🌟 Learnings from our recent pitches to major retailers! 🌟 As a growing brand, we're regularly presented with opportunities to pitch our products to global retailers. Our recent pitches to major retailers was an enlightening experience, and we're thrilled to share some key takeaways that we believe can benefit fellow entrepreneurs and professionals: 1. Know Your Audience Inside Out: Before stepping into the pitches, we took the time to truly understand the soft elements of who we were pitching to. This helped us tailor our presentation to resonate with the retailer's values and vision. 2. Invaluable Insights from Store Teams: Conversations with the teams in stores provided us with unique insights that allowed us to fine-tune our pitches. Their on-ground perspective proved instrumental in crafting a compelling proposal. 3. Realistic Dry-Runs Make a Difference: We staged multiple dry-runs in a setting that closely resembled the actual pitch scenario. This not only boosted our confidence but also helped us identify areas for improvement. 4. Keep it Fun: Yes, it is serious business with a lot at stake. At the same time, we made sure to infuse an element of fun and playfulness. Keeping the atmosphere positive fostered creativity and unity within our team. Adding (Swiss) chocolate to the mix also does not hurt. Every pitch is an opportunity for growth and learning - we're extremely grateful for the chance to engage with major retailers and excited about the journey ahead. 🚀 #PitchingSuccess #RetailOpportunities #EntrepreneurJourney

Valuation & Vetting Expert for SMBs I Helping buyers and sellers discover missing value I Posts about the process
Should I expand my eCommerce business to sell internationally? 95% of the time, the answer is… No. Having vetted hundreds of eCommerce businesses over the years, it’s clear as day that expanding to sell in other countries won’t move the needle. In fact, it usually hurts your margins, limits cash flow, and creates a logistical nightmare. Instead, double down on sales domestically and squeeze every drop of profit from your local market. If your business is + 3 years old, then it's probably an exception to this post. #ecommerce #mergersandacquisitions #entrepreneur

☕️ The 1st December coffee-in session saw presentations from TiE Melbourne members Aaron & @James Ross, founders of Pie Rewards and long-standing TiE Melbourne charter member, Dr. Subhash Challa, Founder & CEO of ASX-listed sensen.ai. 📍 Aaron and James are creatively solving for two interesting and seemingly unrelated problems - low-value from retail loyalty programs, and hesitation amongst young people in investing. Their solution is to enable their users to seamlessly have loyalty $ from retailers channeled into an actual portfolio of managed investments! Their #1 priority at present is to raise funding to expand their user base. 📍 Subhash is at the other end of the entrepreneurship cycle, with a substantial and growing global business, with >AU$10m revenue. He gave insight into the challenges for listed small caps in terms of the seeming disconnect between performance and share price, a familiar conundrum indeed.
