"I initially wanted to work in the federal service because I found the work rewarding and saw how the work my organization did impacted the American people in such a positive manner. After becoming a federal employee, I became aware of the many professions, training and advancement opportunities."– Sondra, Financial Specialist, Federal Maritime Commission

This is the discovery that many don't understand. The opportunities are endless. I've had 21 GS & NAF jobs in a career that included working and living internationally. It's difficult to break into federal service, so many vets try and give up, being rejected time after time while they are highly qualified, not just minimally qualified. I've been a pt fed. jobs consultant helping vets for 8 yrs and I still manage my ft GS position. I do this because we need the value vets bring with their service and because they deserve a break. USAJOBS is not an easy process and when a vet I work with not only competes, but gets referred, interviews and gets hired, it makes me know I'm making a difference. If you are one of the vets that has walked away, please contact me so we can talk about your goals and how I can help you reach them. A federal career is so close, but so far away if you don't know how to compete. don't listen to the doubters that have given up. Challenge them by succeeding. you may pm me here or email me at [email protected] sbj .line "Help a Vet'. Thank you. Gregg Kininmonth

I am hopeful to break through the barriers it takes to become a federal employee. I know all my hard work will be worth it.
