When soliciting feedback from Ubisoft Toronto employees after this install, one word was used repeatedly: reliability. The team working in sound design at the studio have spent their career training their ears and now have a system they know they can trust. To remove barriers so the team can focus on working effectively, we designed fully custom, user-centred tactile controls using a MakePro X custom-configured controller. These include individual mute and solo for every speaker, mic input gain and phantom power, video switching control between PCs and gaming console inputs, headphone and master levels, as well as switching between different master EQ contours like Dolby X! Youtube just recommended a nice video (finally 😅 )... i kinda liked it! It is fair to a degree, but it is not 100% fair. Hopefully to Ubi one day (soon) going back on track again. #Ubisoft was an industry leading company, wherever Ubi used to go, other companies were following (game aspect, market aspect, technical aspect,...everything), it is not the case anymore, it's heartbreaking, and it need to be sorted. Big congrats to the hundreds of talents who worked on #AvatarFrontiersOfPandora, that we release today! With this game, we wanted to show that titles based on famous movies IPs could be far more than their usual reputation of opportunistic digital merchandising. I had the privilege along with 4 other colleagues from our Project Closing team to help Massive Entertainment - A Ubisoft Studio for a while to ship this game. Many learnings, like: 1) How to collaborate with franchise owner Lightstorm Entertainment & James Cameron to not only adapt but co-craft with minutia a worthwhile expansion of the movies 2) Central role of technology to materialize such an ambitious vision for world-building. First reviews and players impressions are out, and they are unanimous about this product becoming a new visual benchmark, our studios' success to create new regions of Pandora that are believeable, and an immersive experience full of "wow" moments that is truly complementing the movies. Kudos to all the codev studios as well, Ubisoft Blue Byte GmbH, Ubisoft Romania, Ubisoft Montpellier, Ubisoft Shanghai, Ubisoft Toronto, Ubisoft Ukraine Studios, Ubisoft Leamington and all the other teams at Ubisoft who contributed, as well as Lightstorm Entertainment, The Walt Disney Company, Fox Corporation. #gaming #games #tech #avatar #ubisoft #disney
