How many of you have transitioned once, twice or more times in your career? I've moved from a Set Lighting technician & Part-time Producer - Studio Manager - Production Supervisor of Theatricals. Being multifaceted is the way of the future. Look at the companies that have multiple focuses. From Apple, To Sony, To Skybound Entertainment, Microsoft, and so many more. These companies have their hands in multiple fields from Entertainment, technology, products, etc. As an individual, being able to adapt, to learn, to grow is the norm. The old phrase sums it up perfectly, "a jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one." As I continue to grow, building up the roster of skills, from Project Management, Film Production, International Coordination and much more, it helps to remember when you hear people tell you to "focus on one thing" that now a days that one thing, is adaptability. #career #entertainment #adaptability #careergrowth #future

Brilliantly done as always

What a year it has been, after being hired for my new role as the Production Supervisor of Theatricals for a Localization company, I was given the news that I had a potentially life threatening heart condition. After undergoing emergency open-heart surgery, it's been a year of not only recovering and rebuilding my strength but rebuilding a stronger foundation in my role as a Supervisor. One thing that was paramount during recovery was consistency and goal setting. Both in and out of work. At work, leadership became my forever project, looking to constantly improve upon my abilities to coordinate multitudes of team members schedules as well as understanding the complexities of the various studios requirements for the projects set in place. Everyday, the mantra to learn and improve motivated me to become a stronger leader. Outside of work, I set the goal to run a 1/2 marathon in March as a birthday gift to myself, this too was achieved. As I lament on the accomplishments, one must reflect on what doors must close in order to open a new. Having being a film technician for over a decade, I can no longer work in lighting due to the new limitations. As of now, I say goodbye to the production life and focus on transmuting the 1000 hours obtained in the field into a new career path focused on becoming a full-time Creative Producer and looking to connect with hiring managers & creatives alike. #goalsetting #determination #challenges #openforwork

Get to know Brandon below and discover more about his expertise.    What is your title at PENDA?  Video Production Manager    Tell us a little about yourself and what you do...     I am a cinematographer and video production manager at PENDA. I help to create and execute various client projects, contribute ideas and generate multifaceted content for marketing and flagship projects. I've always had a passion for cinematic storytelling and creative work and I love to see life from behind a lens.    How does video production help clients tell their stories?  Creating a video, especially with onsite filming, helps clients tell their stories because it offers a look into their operations and personalities. Everything from the people to the process to the product. My goal is to create a narrative perspective that encompasses more than just a video. I believe that filming on location adds more depth to what we create, making our visuals speak louder than words ever could.    What is your favourite part of working with clients?  I'm genuinely interested in what people are passionate about, so I love it when I get the opportunity to film with someone who enjoys showing us what they do or have created. It makes me feel wholesome to get an opportunity like that!    What do you love about working with PENDA?   I love working with the team behind the projects. Since I joined, I've had the opportunity to work closely with just about everyone on the team, and they really encourage creative ideas and trust my instincts which I couldn't ask for more. It's been a thrilling journey, and I believe our work truly reflects the energy and passion we put into it.    Do you have an exciting moment or highlight memory from any of the shoots with PENDA?   During one of my earliest shoots, we got rooftop access to capture a sunset timelapse in Toronto. Watching the city skyline transform from a downtown skyscraper was an unforgettable experience. It seems like such a simple memory, but it stands out because I felt like I was exactly where I wanted to be, doing exactly what I wanted to do as a career.
