While it would be fun to be in an office together, we don't need one to run our business. Some days I'm working on my phone more than my computer. And that's because, like many others, we use Slack. Slack has really become our central information system. It's how we gather & share information, communicate with each other and make decisions. Every company has a similar system. However, I think many struggle to optimize their system for speed. It slows them down more than it speeds them up. We don't have that issue. Our system is all about speed. Here’s three ways we use Slack to help us run our business: 1) Automating key business metrics. We’ve got dozens of Zaps set up from Circle, Stripe, HubSpot and elsewhere that are posting dozens of messages per day into our Slack for key metrics like trials and membership purchases. To other teams this would feel like a distraction. But for us getting a hour-by-hour pulse check on our business encourages productive conversations and quick decision making. 2) Sharing customer sentiment. Each of us is sharing social posts, emails, and notes from calls with members constantly. Not every team member can be on a call, or will see the same LinkedIn posts when they login. But when you organize it into a single channel on your Slack every team member can stay up-to-date. Bigger decisions are easier to make when you get small doses of customer feedback every day. 3) Building a searchable database for business decisions. Some decisions happen off Slack, but many happen within Slack. And that's on purpose. That's so we always have the context in which we made a decision. For each major area of our business - our newsletter, our sponsors, our podcast - we are having conversations in Slack daily. This creates a source of truth for why we decided to do something. Even for a small team, when you're moving quickly, you often forget why you decided to do something. This helps mitigate that issue. P.S. This is not a sponsored post, just sharing some behind the scenes perspective 🙂

We know you're not here just for another weekly Zoom call, or to join another self-proclaimed 'self-help' community. That's precisely why The Rebels Cohort exists. Each Zoom call we have isn't just a meet-up; it's a meeting of minds. It's where ideas clash, merge, evolve, and turn into something extraordinary. It's a space where voices are heard, perspectives are challenged, and new paradigms are built. We're not just connecting through our screens; we're connecting on a deeper, more meaningful level. We're a global collaboration hub where every conversation is a chance to learn, to grow, to make an impact. But we're MORE than just these Zoom calls. We're a community that believes in the power of collective action, of standing up for what we believe in, and in making dreams a reality. We're a support system, a brainstorming hub, a platform for innovation. We're about taking action, shaking up the status quo, and leaving a positive imprint on our world. The Rebels Cohort doesn't fit the traditional mold of a 'self-help' group. We're not here to sell you a pre-packaged 'success' recipe. Instead, we're about empowerment, about providing tools, resources, and a conducive environment for you to carve out your own path. We challenge each other, hold each other accountable, and celebrate each other's successes. We're about face-to-face meetings at our Rebels Basecamp, about shared laughter, shared struggles, shared triumphs. We're about turning the impossible into the possible. In the Rebels Cohort, you're not just a member. You're a rebel, a pioneer, a trailblazer. You're a part of a vibrant, dynamic, global movement that's making waves in how we think, learn, and lead. So, welcome aboard, Rebels. We're not just another weekly Zoom call. We're not just another 'self-help' community. We're the Rebels Cohort, and we're here to change the game. CHANGE IS NOW. DM me if you feel these values. 3 Basecamp Tickets are still available and our Cohort community is found at www.therebelscohort.com

Bryd has been in business for 7 months now during that time we've conducted business in nearing 20 countries and many timezones... want to know how we manage it whilst getting feedback like: "You have set the standard on what we expect from partners! Thank you for helping us move our business forward." (more on this next week 😉) Here are our tips for working in Slack whilst working on multiple projects: 🔵 We use Slack Connect for everything. There's just no other communication type that is as effective for connecting with customers and partners 🔵 We minimise our time spent in `live` meetings, most our work is done asynchronously (unless it's a planned workshop). Working in async with Workflows, Clip & Recordings means that our clients can catch-up in their own time and the downstream impact of this is that we can move work along quicker because we're not waiting for the best possible meeting time to talk about items which can just be written instead 🔵 We use internal channels to provide status updates on our various engagements, as well as maintaining a master canvas for everything that we have going on In summary, everything is tracked and maintained in Slack.
