Each status has it’s own set of unique mandates to qualify and have a salary minimum associated with those exemption statuses. ADMINISTRATIVE EXEMPT STATUS: -The employee’s primary duty consists of the performance of office or administrative, non- manual field work directly related to management policies or general operations. -The employee is paid on a salary basis with a specific NYS regional salary minimum. -Some examples include work activities that relate to finance, insurance, human resources, personnel management, and advertising. New York’s Pay Transparency Law Catches Any Role Reporting to a Boss in the State Law that takes effect Sept. 17 requires pay transparency for jobs based in New York state — and those that report to a NY manager The New York state pay transparency law that took effect Sunday adds a new twist: Not only does it require a salary range alongside all postings for jobs in the state, but also those that report to a boss based there. The law, signed by Governor Kathy Hochul last December, was modified to leave out requirements for every remote job out of state, but added that pay information be included if the job “will physically be performed outside of New York but reports to a supervisor, office or other work site in New York.” The legislation applies to New York City, which enacted its own pay transparency law last year. That law had no provision for pay transparency for remote workers based on their reporting line. The New York state law is the latest in a wave of legislation that started in Colorado in 2021 and is now in place in states including Washington, California and Hawaii. #business #finance #financialservices

What do you do? Oh, I'm a administrator/assistant/payroll officer/recurrent consultant/manager...... Those have been some of my responses throughout the years. I identified as my job. Not only that, I also outside of work, use to talk about work, think about work stuff, and use to associate things in my personal life with work. 'I am' is such a powerful statement. So, consider this: Who would you be if you weren't in the job you are in right now? What would you do if you weren't doing what you do now? Who are you outside and separate from work? If you are finding it hard to find out, now is the time to take action and change that.
