The “how big is the field” numbers in Democracy Fund’s new report are helpful (e.g., institutional philanthropy for democracy is ~$6bn). But I found the funder survey responses on future priorities most helpful: 1st place: media policy and mis/disinformation 2nd place: election administration 3rd place: journalism Okay, now, jobs! Over the last few months, I've learned that entrepreneurship is a marathon, not a sprint. As a result, I've recognized that my skills can have a greater impact at a tech company right now – so I'm excited to find a new job! 🎯 After almost 10 years in Europe, I'm looking for opportunities in Mexico (or with a company planning to expand here) in roles such as: ✔️ Community Manager ✔️ Business Development ✔️ Content Marketing ✔️ Event Planning 📈 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐍𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬: Data and AI Consultancy: As a Technical Recruiter, I tripled the hiring rate of data engineers, hosted monthly tech meetups with up to 100 guests, boosted our junior program's applicant numbers from 50 to 400 per month through employer branding, and pioneered several DEI initiatives. Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship: As a Community Manager, I led the team that laid the foundation for expanding our innovation hub into another city. We successfully planned and executed 10 events, building a community of over 250 members. 🚀 𝐄𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬: Mindful Tech Tribe: Founded a coliving and coworking that aimed at improving the well-being of remote tech professionals. LinkedIn Coaching: Help tech founders optimize their profiles and build their personal brands through consistent content creation. To summarize, building and nurturing online and in-person relationships is what I do best. ✔️ If you are hiring, send me a message! ✔️ If you know someone who is, please tag them or share this post. Help a girl pivot back into the workforce! #jobhunting #techjobs #mexicocity

Communications & Corporate Affairs Director/LinkedIn Top Voice in Corporate Communications & Public Relations
Effective #communications is transformative. It is the foundation on which many successful businesses are built. Developing relationships with stakeholders, colleagues, investors, the media and policymakers pays dividends. Good communications impacts the bottom line through building and protecting a business’s #reputation. But. It can’t do any of this if it’s squirreled away in some forgotten corner of the back office. Being ‘reactive’. I find it staggering that many businesses think it sensible to hire a bunch of talented people who are expected to twiddle their thumbs waiting for something, anything to occur. If the comms function isn’t represented in the room where it happens, that’s a problem. Believe me, there are few things more frustrating than finding out about what’s going on because you get a call from a journalist asking about it. And then having to defend a decision you know nothing about. A decision that might never been made with wise communications counsel. My advice? Give the comms team a seat at the table and listen. It’s transformative. #opentowork
