I recently finished "Amp it up" by Frank Slootman. For context, Frank Slootman is the person who grew SaaS giant Service Now into the hundred billion dollar business it is today and led Snowflake to its IPO. It's an insightful book on demanding and achieving great performance and results from a large team. Here are some of the learnings from the book: 1. Demand excellence from yourself and others around you. People will always gravitate towards the average. It's your job as a leader to not let that happen. 2. Don't think incrementally, think in terms of a mission or big goal. If you plan to lose weight, don't think you'll lose some kilos, but have a goal of being fit enough to run a marathon. 3. Be authentic to your experience and growth. Don't try and copy and be someone else. You are a sum of all your unique experiences, hone them in the right way. 4. If you don't get results, no one cares. No one cares if the market was bad, no one cares if your key team member left. You have to get it done. On the contrary, if you get it done, despite not listening to other people's advice, they won't care too. All that matters is that you have to get it done. Of course, there's a lot more, but these are the ones that stuck with me the most. It's a great book if you're curious about leadership and strategy. Not just a bunch of jargons, but actionable insights from a true operator. And yes you can guess my next review that's coming up soon enough :)

An incredible quarter for Snowflake! Our core business remains strong. Product Revenue for the quarter was $790 million, up 34% year-over-year. Given the strong quarter we’re increasing our product revenue outlook for the year 📈. As CEO, I charted three key priorities: 1️⃣ Listening to, and learning from, our customers: Snowflake is a critical and beloved platform in helping our customers run their business. I’ve had conversations with hundreds of customers over the past few months. The learnings are invaluable. The art of the possible for our customers on Snowflake is really incredible. 2️⃣ Driving execution and alignment within our go-to-market teams. I’ve spent a lot of time with our GTM teams, and together we are building and delivering at an incredible pace. 3️⃣ Fueling our innovation and product delivery. You’ve seen us deliver remarkable AI capabilities over the last few months. We’re only just beginning. Our AI capabilities are democratizing access and turbo charging capabilities for our customers. There is so much more to come. We just announced that Cortex, our AI layer, is generally available. "Data for Growth" Event by Pitango and Snowflake 🚀 🚀 Thanks for everyone who joined us for our breakfast event, "Data for Growth" in collaboration with our friends and partners, Snowflake. For us it was also the official launch of our VPs of PRODUCT FORUM, marking the beginning of a series of activities for our forum, dedicated to addressing the latest trends and pressing challenges for PMs. During our the first session, we delved into the impact of Gen AI on product and data operations in SaaS companies, how LLMs influence the way we build products but also how we build them, enhances understanding of user needs, optimizes costs, and reshaping the relationship between product and data departments. We also talked about some negative aspects of the current state of LLMs like the implications on data security, brand safety, compliance, and implementation in the age of Gen AI.
