I help leaders create mentally healthy workplaces across the globe. Amazon #1 Best Selling Author, TEDx Speaker, Coin Carrier
It's the first day of May, which officially marks the beginning of Mental Health Month. What began in 1949 as an awareness and advocacy initiative spearheaded by Mental Health America has since grown into a tradition carried on by millions of Americans each year. The theme for 2024 is "Where to Start: Mental Health in a Changing World." In accordance with this year's message, I urge you to take a minute to reflect on your own mental well-being and that of those around you. Approximately 20% of people experience a mental health condition each year, yet many suffer in silence. Consider this your reminder that mental health is nothing to be ashamed of, and neither is talking about it. Take a moment today to prioritize your mental well-being and encourage open conversations. You're not alone, and support is available. Remember, it's never too late to start caring for your mental health. #MentalHealth #MentalHealthAwareness #MentalHealthMonth #Advocacy #BreakTheStigma #MentalHealthMatters #CompassionateLeadership

This year’s #EuropeanMentalHealthWeek is about making co-creation a reality. Doing with is better than doing for. We are #BetterTogether. - Co-creation means different people working together towards one purpose: better mental health for all. - The knowledge of people with lived experience, their supporters, professionals, and decision makers is valued equally. - The best actions in mental health are about people’s real needs. That’s why people’s voices matter - Co-creation inspires responsibility, trust, power, and shared accountability. - Let’s promote positive mental health, design paths to recovery, and improve mental health care and social inclusion together, with the meaningful involvement of each of us. - The easiest form of co-creation is working with those around you! If you and your community were to be involved in decisions regarding mental health initiatives, what would you prioritise and how?
🌲 This year #EuropeanMentalHealthWeek is all about co-creation and the meaningful engagement of each of us in Mental health. What impacts your mental health? If YOU were involved in decisions regarding mental health , what would you prioritise and how? 🌱 The RECETAS Project aims at alleviating loneliness and social isolation and therefore improve #mentalhealth through nature-based social prescribing. May 6 to 12, 2024, is #MentalHealthWeek across Canada, and this year is centered on the healing power of compassion. In a world of uncertainty where we have no idea what personal or professional struggles our colleagues, friends or family members may be going through, each of us has a tremendous power at our disposal: practicing compassion. Compassion is defined as the practice of meeting suffering with kindness and caring action, and goes beyond empathy into the realm of taking action. According to the Canadian Mental Health Association, demonstrating compassion through caring actions and kindness can positively impact mood and help alleviate feelings of depression. It’s also contagious, as experiencing acts of compassion can encourage others to show compassion too—creating a domino effect. Practicing compassion is also fundamental to creating a more just and equitable society. This week our Alberta Blue Cross team members embraced the spirit of Mental Health Week by sending colleagues notes of encouragement and kindness. Check out the video at https://lnkd.in/gvpYcPA5. So if you happen to be reading this post, please join me in recognizing Mental Health Week by helping to spread the healing power of compassion. You never know whose life you might impact for the better. #Compassionconnects #Mentalhealth #MentalHealthWeek2024 #Wellbeing #Mentalhealthishealth #CMHA #Wellbeingatwork
