There's one job in in sustainability (especially in bigger companies) that might not be the most obvious sustainability job, but is certainly one of the most important jobs in the industry. The job I'm talking about is the "Head of Responsible Procurement" or the "Sustainable Sourcing" title. The industry is moving towards a deeper understanding of their scope 3 emissions, and the only way to really do this is through supplier engagement. When you can successfully engage the suppliers, offer them a way to measure, report and reduce emissions at a SMB appropriate price, you have yourself a recipe for success. Otherwise, you might be expecting a lot from suppliers who are in the early stages of their sustainability program. The biggest challenge I've seen in working with a fortune 500 company on their supplier engagement is that lot of SMB suppliers might not believe that their emissions are worth measuring and many don't even know where to begin. And to offer up some value, here are four job posts for this type of role: 1. Autodesk is hiring for a Head of Responsible Procurement. 2. PepsiCo is hiring an ESG Program Engagement Senior Analyst. 3. Levi Strauss & Co. hiring a regional manager, sustainable sourcing. 4. Ralph Lauren is hiring a Sustainability Manager, Supply Chain for the Americas. p.s if you ever want to chat supply chain engagement, DM me!!

The most effective CSO profile is not necessarily someone who reports to the CFO or a company newbie. At least in manufacturing and product-driven companies, Siemen told me, the ideal profile is a longtime employee who is steeped in product development and engineering.

I like the punch line in the video here. Check it out!
I help product leaders at environmental management companies achieve revenue growth in excess of $2 million by developing and implementing innovative product solutions.
🍅If you’re a product leader at an environmental management company, then this post is for YOU because right now you’re facing revenue challenges! 🍅This is frustrating for you because you've got a great team but they’re not coming up with innovative ways to drive revenue. You’re stressed that your boss is giving you an ass kicking, and you’re worried about losing market share. 🍅Wouldn’t it be better if you could get ahead of your competition with accelerated revenues? It’s because you've reached the limit of your playbook's effectiveness. It's time to seek answers beyond its boundaries. 🍅The solution you're looking for lies in the realm of innovation, a domain where your team may not currently possess the requisite skills. If you're feeling apprehensive about venturing into creative and innovative territory, it's likely due to concerns about the associated costs and time commitment, or the unknowns of trying new innovative solutions. 🍅Having 10 years of experience and having delivered $2 million in revenue growth in one year through breaking away from traditional norms, I now consider uncovering innovative solutions to be second nature to me. 🍅That’s why my colleagues said that I have a talent for dismantling barriers and coming up with unconventional solutions to boost business and that I would be an asset to develop business growth through a multitude of innovative approaches. 🍅If you’d like to increase your revenue through innovative solutions, email me at [email protected]. Regardless of your location worldwide, I can help you remotely from California. I'm eager to contribute to your success! #SustainableBusiness #ZeroWaste #GreenEnergy

"Yes we want sustainability, but ..." While hiring a sustainability manager is a good start, if you really want to transform your business the "sustainability manager" should become the "chief sustainability officer" (CSO). Too often sustainability is seen as a "nice-to-have" when really it should be considered in every major business decision. What do you think? #sustainabilitymanager #chiefsustainabilityofficer #sustainability
