Tara Bunch as a fellow woman in customer experience and operations I’d love to tell you about my recent disasterous experience with Airbnb. Unfortunately when things went wrong and we reported a serious safety issue during a stay, we recieved no real support. Instead we had to make our own arrangements at a huge cost, and have had to chase customer service multiple times to get updates. We’ve even had our complaint trivialized by everyone we’ve spoken to as an “inconvenience”. The issue was in fact quite a serious safety issue as the house’s outer structure had a 4ft x 4ft gaping hole in it that anyone could have climbed through. I’d love to get in touch not only so I can feel our feedback has been heard but in the hope that policies and procedures can be better shaped in the future to protect customers who have been made vulnerable to potential harm during a stay. It feels as though the current procedures act as a barrier to customer feedback actually being heard by anyone with any influence. I’ve used Airbnb for years and right now sadly feel as though it’s become too big to truly support customers so I’d love to share my experience with you to try and rectify that.
