Finance, Accounting and HR Recruiter for small to medium sized companies in the tri-state area

Quick question for you on this chilly Fall morning. If a role is fully remote, why does the candidate need to live close to the office? This makes no sense to me. I understand that you may need the candidate to come into the office from time to time, but why can't they travel from wherever they live to come to the office that day? If it is for tax purposes, then I understand but that should be the only reason that a candidate needs to live near the office for a remote role. Just saying! -Steve the "No Secrets" Recruiter #remote #dontgetit #nosecrets

Steve, I 100% agree. I see post after post listed as "remote" then as you read into the job description it clearly states "ON-SITE". Certain jobs simply can not be "phoned in". Facilities manager for example (my field). How could a conscientious facilities manager effectively do his/her job without regular tours through the building and property? You may be right regarding tax implications. But more likely it's an effort to hire someone who will eventually be told the company rules changed and they are expected to RTO full time.
