SRE is oftentimes associated with Kubernetes. That's a poor correlation. Both Kubernetes and SRE originated at Google, so they share a common history. But reliability applies to, and affects, all platforms and systems, Kubernetes or otherwise. #sre #sitereliabilityengineering #kubernetes

𝐀 𝐊𝐮𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐬 𝐭𝐢𝐩: (NO BS) My friend once said, for crucial Pods, set (𝐂𝐏𝐔 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐌𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐲) request and limit equally. My first reaction: "What the fish?" Why should I set them both equally? After a while, I realized. It's about taking advantage of 𝐐𝐨𝐒 𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬. If you set them both same, your Pods get guaranteed QoS. And that means, your Pods are little safer from getting evicted. Obviously. This may not workout for all use cases. But with careful planning it can be quite handy. P.S Progress begins with a single step. Just take it. #kubernetes #devops #cloudcomputing

The latest blog from Resolve Systems is out, covering site reliability engineering (SRE) with a fresh perspective. Some might say SRE is the hottest new topic that’s gaining momentum and growing in importance by the minute. But really, Google made SRE a thing back in 2003. So — you might ask — what’s the most relevant info on SRE that IT teams need to know today, as well as we approach 2024? From properly interpreting the relationship between DevOps and SRE and Ops, to fully understanding what they truly have to do with each other, and more, our engineering expert John Gorham takes you deep into the world of SRE as it applies to IT teams. https://lnkd.in/gGFUGKuu #sre #sitereliabilityengineering
