SAD or SAE I don’t like throwing around labels or conditions as it can become a self fulfilling prophecy… However I have heard a few people touch on seasonal affective disorder … or as I like to call it, season affective experience If you are finding it more difficult to get going in this weather, feel deflated, defeated or low … or maybe just feel your spark has been put out, here are a few ideas: - Set yourself small-win goals. Turn the cold walk to work into a step- count challenge to see how many steps you can get in before work. Find some great podcasts or audiobooks to complete on your commute. - Make it work for you … just because you used to gym in the morning, would you enjoy it more at lunch or after work in this period? Just because you have always worked certain hours can you find out if there is any flexibility which you would prefer ? - Plan happiness. Maybe it’s grabbing your favourite coffee on route to work or arranging a lunch date mid week… what will make you enjoy the season more ? Finally, don’t be hard on yourself ! Less than 4 weeks ago we were all in shorts and T-shirts smashing the factor 50… give yourself a break as we adjust to the change in season!
