Today is Global Accessibility Day, a day to understand how we can create an environment that is accessible for everyone. Did you know that 1 billion people worldwide are living with a disability, yet most companies are creating barriers for their potential customers to serve their needs? It's time to change that. This is a topic near and dear to my heart, since I learned I was hearing impaired nearly a decade ago. Take some time today to learn about what you and your company can do to make your workplace, products, content and customer experiences more accessible for people with disabilities. Find events near you and learn more about why accessibility is important at the GAAD (Global Accessibility Awareness Day) Foundation site. Let's work together to help people with disabilities consume and interact with digital applications and content. #gaad #accessibility #disabilityinclusion

May 18th was Global #Accessibility Awareness Day—but, to quote the GAAD homepage below, "it doesn't need to end there." This observance spotlights digital accessibility: the guarantee that people with disabilities can use and experience digital content and products with the same success as those without disabilities. This type of accessibility is a crucial component of the overall picture of access and inclusion for all, particularly in today's increasingly virtual world. You can learn more about digital accessibility and find resources to assist in facilitating it on the GAAD website linked in this post. #GlobalAccessibilityAwarenessDay
