7 Lessons I Have Learnt in the Food and Beverage Service Department this Month 1. Adherence to hotel policy when replenishing conference halls with confectionery and water. 2. A service team that works together accomplishes the delivery targets with little to no struggle at the end of the day. 3. Your personal output as a member of the service team gives a lasting impression to the guest. 4. Actionable leadership is something I have spotted from my seniors in this department. It has been an admiration the whole time and this is something I will emulate when I scale to their ranks. 5. Fulfill the guest's needs to the best of your abilities while maintaining professionalism and following hotel policy. 6. Guests are different and how you approach complex situations will determine if you'll last in this space or will seek comfort elsewhere. 7. Above all, you are the brain and the workforce behind the guest's satisfaction. So, being in your best energy physically and mentally will do you more good.

The hospitality industry is a vibrant and dynamic field, offering many opportunities for growth and creativity. While it can be demanding with long hours and high-pressure situations, the rewards are immense. Here are my 3 most favourite things about the hospitality industry: 1. Creating Memorable Experiences: One of the best parts is being able to create unforgettable experiences for people. Whether it's a cozy staycation or a delicious meal at a restaurant, making someone's day brighter is incredibly rewarding. 2. Diverse Opportunities: The hospitality industry is so diverse! From hotels to event planning to culinary arts, there's a place for everyone with different passions and talents to shine. 3. Team Spirit: Working in hospitality means being part of a team that feels like family. The camaraderie and support among colleagues make every day enjoyable and exciting.
