Everyone should be playing with GPTs at work right now. It’s easy to think these tools are a fad, too complicated, or unlikely to have real impact on your job. But you’re wrong. In my recent podcast conversation with Logan Kilpatrick (head of developer relations at OpenAI), we chatted about how people at top-tier tech companies are using custom GPTs to help their non-eng teams be more productive, while also taking a load off their eng teams. To find more examples, I took to X and LinkedIn. I asked how people are using GPTs in their day-to-day work now. The volume (and variety) of responses blew my mind. I got over 300 replies with hundreds of examples—from cooking up copy experiments to extracting feature ideas from sales calls to having conversations with their customer personas. When I was deep in the throes of juggling being a new parent and running Scribe, I begged a friend: “Please tell me it gets easier!” She wisely responded: “Well, no. So you become the person you need to be for the next phase.” I didn’t understand it at the time.   But now, having gone through the newborn, crawling, walking, talking, and now toddler mischief phases, I deeply understand what she means.  🧐 I think about what she said a lot.  It’s certainly true for parenthood.   But it’s also true for your career.  For your life.  When going through a trying moment, the question isn’t: “When can this be over?” It’s: “How do I grow in response? How do I rise to this occasion?” So next time you’re tackling a difficult project, colleague, or problem at work, ask yourself:  🤔 “What is this teaching me? How am I growing?” And know that, while other challenges may await you on the other side, you’ll be a bigger, stronger person facing them 🦸 You got this 💪
