Revolutionizing the Way We Work | Director of People & Performance | Business Coach & Integrated Life Specialist
Do you ever think about the impact of your time? We spend a lot of mental energy (and stress) thinking about how much time we "spend" out of our daily budget. 1/3 of the day at work 1/3 of the day sleeping 1/12 of the day doing housework etc. But what if we changed the perspective on our time spent, and looked at it as time invested in impact? I bet you'd feel a whole lot better about where your hours are going (if not, you should be doing a time audit!) Yesterday, myself and some team members at Dopple invested a small amount of our time to contribute to a large impact. Investing just 0.0833 of our day, we sorted through almost 20 bags of donated clothing and organized brand new hygiene products like toothbrushes and shampoo. With just a tiny part of our day, we were able to support an organization that partners with over 300 agencies and has served close to 50,000 children in the area. This was more than a 2 hour appointment on a calendar. This was more than "an afternoon spent" This was community. This was contribution. This was caring. This was IMPACT. This is the relationship we should have with our time, and how we choose to invest it.
Another volunteer day in the books 💪 Yesterday, members of the Dopple team celebrated Juneteenth by volunteering at local organizations across the country. Some of our Charleston area teammates partnered up with the Lowcountry Orphan Relief to sort donations being prepped to be packaged as part of their Children's Care Kit initiative. The Lowcountry Orphan Relief collects private donations at their Distribution Center in North Charleston, as well as through their online wishlists. Each Care Kit comes with 2 weeks worth of clothing, shoes, socks & underwear, pajamas, and toiletries. They also make sure each kiddo gets school supplies, stuffed animals, and books. (If you are considering donating, some of their immediate needs include ethnic hair care products and school supplies such as backpacks). Thank you everyone who participated in Dopple's volunteer day, and thank you LOR for everything you do for the children!
