Heh. Not wrong but thanks to the mobile release team there's a solid action plan to help. This year's plans for Jan improved on last year's release on-call team retros learnings - it's great to see more embracing of continuous deployment principles by cutting releases through the holidays "as if to ship" and beta vs completely stacking risk all through the holiday. Still gonna be rough but hopefully Foundation Snoo bounces back fast 🥳🤞
It's been a busy couple of months at Measured, but in our down time we've been working on something special for Puck:
Viewport switching with full iframe support! ✨
This has not been a simple task - in order to support media queries, you need to use iframes. But iframes don't play well with drag-and-drop, a core Puck feature.
We didn't want to compromise the core Puck experience, so we forked the underlying dnd library and introduced a new one:
🥌 @measured/dnd: our fork of @hello-pangea/dnd (a fork of Atlassian's react-beautiful-dnd maintained by Reece Carolan and team) that supports iframes. We may attempt to merge this upstream if we can resolve all the edge cases.
🖼️ @measured/auto-frame-component: a React iframe component that live syncs styles between host and iframe.
The result? Seamless drag-and-drop across iframes, integrated with Puck to deliver viewport switching.
Here's a little preview video of it in action 👇
I've just pushed my solution to Day 3 of Advent of Code to my website!

Fair warning; these solutions are imperitive, inefficient, and inelegant 🤡
HOWEVER, they have passing test suites AND I managed to complete both parts in the short amount of time I had this morning, so if you really think about it then I've delivered a functional, well-tested MVP right on schedule! 😅
