🍄 "Community Thinking" is the easy part. “Doing Community” is a different ball game: It’s easy to talk about community. To debate what it is or isn’t. To discover ideas that seem to have worked for someone else. To apply experiences from hindsight. To develop the perfect strategy. To make your budgets look feasible and perfect. To justify using models and principles that seem to make sense It’s different when it comes to “Doing Community”. All those ideas, theories and tools are not necessarily wrong, but finding ways to use and apply them into your community is a completely different experience. Everything gets messy. Things don’t go according to plan. You fail where you think you will succeed. You succeed where you think you will fail. What people actually value is hard to discover. Strategies don’t go according to plan. And so much is outside of your control. #ContinuousCommunityClue No24: ❤️ Use Community Thinking to inspire you, but don’t forget that communities come together through doing. This post is inspired by Hung Lee. Thank you.

Here is an interesting reflection I had today that I would like to share with you. ⚡ Today is special, I finally have new ideas and inspirations for my business. A few months ago I used to get these bursts of inspiration quite often and lately, I really missed having these moments. Maybe because I had seen some setbacks and it was hard for me to imagine launching something new and failing again. But wait here’s the amusing twist- since I started this journey, I have realized that I am in love with the side of me which is delusional, passionate, and instinctive. 💥 As long as I continue having great ideas and the ability to bring them into practice, that is the state I long to be in. It doesn’t matter if those ideas succeed or fail to a large extent, but just that I keep trying and enjoying the PROCESS. Because sometimes I am so busy in the process, I don’t care so much about the result. I may have succeeded or failed in starting a community, but what I enjoyed the most was the #process of creating this community, not the goal itself. You know what I mean? The reason I am sharing this with you is because I hope, this inspires you to try and enjoy the process without obsessing too much about the result. Whether you are about to begin a new hobby, a business, or a project, I hope this gives you inspiration to start. Because these encounters were the most fulfilling ones in my life. #enjoythejourney

[Purpose is The Main P!] Why do I think that purpose is the main P? Because I think it's ink for all of us when we want to draw the framework of our community. Why? By knowing our purpose in building a community, we can determine what kind of "people" we will invite into our community. We can also determine what kind of "place" or platform can support our purpose, and so on. “So how do I define my community purpose? That sounds hard to do”. Believe me, it is not rocket science. We just need to start asking ourselves or even the company we work for. “So, I just want my community to be successful!”. Well, that's not enough. Dig deeper and be more specific! These are examples of questions I asked myself when I want to draw a community framework: - What do I want to get from this community? - What activities will this community do? - What benefits can I provide to the community? - Why does our community need to exist? - Etc. The answers to the sample questions will have implications for other 6Ps. As a conclusion, the deeper you recognize the purpose of creating your community, the easier it will be for you to draw your community framework. And that's why I think “purpose” is the main P! As usual, my opinion is not the most correct fact and I am very open if you have other opinions. That's all for today, see you soon!! #community #7P #purpose

Transformational Life Coach & Speaker 💫 I help women and queer people overcome self-sabotage and overthinking to cultivate a life filled with joy, confidence, and inner peace!
How much time do you waste thinking about stuff that doesn’t benefit you? If you’re like most people, the answer is A LOT! Most people’s minds waste their time with thoughts like: ☑️ I shouldn’t have said that ☑️ If A happens, I’ll do B. If C happens, I’ll do D… and before they know it have run themselves through an entire alphabet of unrealistic scenarios ☑️ I’ll be happy when… ☑️ I’ll be ready when… ☑️ They’ll like me if…. ☑️ Poor me… and the list goes on and on. If you can relate to any of the above, you might love my group program that starts next week! Over the course of 7 weeks you’ll learn to take control of your mind. You’ll gain a better understanding of how you sabotage yourself, and get good at noticing when it happens. You’ll learn tools to refocus your mind on the right stuff… and practice using it until doing so becomes a habit. Oh, and you’ll also learn how to turn even the least of desired circumstances into gifts. Lots of this will be done with proven app-based technology. You’ll also have community support and near-daily support and motivation from me… for a much lower price than traditional coaching (contractually I can't post the price, since I plan to give folks a deal). DM me or comment “curious” if you’d like to learn more!

Consultant | Author | I help fathers to confidently & intentionally navigate the problems we face at work and at home.
I wrote a book about a topic very close to my heart. The book is about community, how we lost it and how it can be rebuilt. But it's not going to be easy, our uber-optimized lifestyles don't make community natural. This is not a nostalgic book or a political book, it's a book about how to use your agency to wield the power of community to bring more meaning and purpose to modern life. I wrote it because I see so many people lament the lack of community & comradery IRL, both for themselves & their kids and they don't know how to fix it. I wrote it because despite social media, and ubiquitous communication devices, it's increasingly difficult to meaningfully connect with others. I wrote it because a lot of parents are grasping all by themselves for some way to prepare and direct their children to productive and happy adulthood. When in reality, it takes a village. I wrote it because there is so much potential for innovation, wonder, and discovery when we turn away from tech and data for just long enough to connect and work within a community. Lastly, I wrote it because I believe community is the next frontier. It's our destiny. If you desire more community in your life. This is how. If you're on the quest to discover your life purpose, consider this advice: Instead of feeling pressured to generate entirely new ideas, recognize that your significant achievement may align with something already accomplished by others. Clarity often comes through repetition, and as your vision becomes clearer each day, redefine your purpose by working with what you already have at hand. Dreams may evolve daily, and I refer to this as continuously redefining our purpose by leveraging what's within our reach. Progressing one step at a time, I strive not only to avoid failure but to fail forward. Reflect on what you currently possess. Whether it's a business idea, a skill to develop, or a community initiative, start from scratch and take one step at a time. Contribute to the well-being of your community, and through giving, you'll likely uncover your purpose.

The biggest lesson I’ve learned about creating a community: This picture was taken at our “Thrive and Vibe” group session last year. I would be lying if I said that every class was as full as this one. But I remember a time when having a class this size was only something I dreamed about. The first time I tried to organize a group class was in 2018. We were able to get three people to show up. And those three people were my close friends. They weren’t even clients; they were just there for support. I remember feeling extremely discouraged by the turnout we were getting. I was posting on all of my socials to spread the word, doing all that I knew to do at the time. But during those first few years of trying, the most I saw was four or five people attend. (Of course, COVID played a part in that.) I made a decision during those lean classes that no matter how many people showed up, I would always give 100% of what I have to offer. I would treat a class of two with the same intensity and attention that I would a class of 50! One of the greatest pieces of advice I received during that first year was to appreciate the fact that the class sizes were small because they gave me the opportunity to make my mistakes in front of just a few people, and this would allow me to be more prepared when the group size grew! That was a game-changer. It has been one of the most dominating thoughts in my mind whenever we set out to try something new and the turnout isn't as high as we forecasted. We still show up… We still give our all… And most importantly, we never lose faith! When someone joins our community, I personally make sure to give them every tool, resource, and experience I possibly can. Because I remember what it was like when the current reality was only a dream! 🚨Let’s Talk: What things do you tell yourself when things don't go quite the way you anticipated?

You can't manage what you don't measure. Community impact is huge, but how do you measure it? The first step is understanding what "impact" means for your community. - Is it engagement? - Is it visibility? - Is it changed behavior? Then, measure that impact. - Engagement: likes, comments, shares, views - Visibility: reach, impressions, clicks - Changed behavior: surveys, feedback, case studies But, don't stop there. Understand what impact means to your community members. - Ask them what is important. - Learn what motivates them. - Discover what they consider progress. Measuring impact takes time and effort, but the results are worth it. It helps you identify what is working and what needs improvement. It also helps build credibility, which leads to trust and loyalty from your community. So, start measuring your community impact today. It's how you grow and how you make a difference.
