The Biden Administration of course prefers combined charging system (CCS) as a minimum to receive federal funds, but Tesla's superchargers account for about 60% of the total number of fast chargers in the United States. ChargePoint, ABB and others are asking for more time to "properly standardize, test, and certify the safety and interoperability of Tesla connectors across the industry". Standards are needed to ensure wide scale adoption of EV's. States like Texas are (and should be) focused on serving the existing community of EV drivers. Tesla is reaping the benefits of being first to market. This is the reward for years of being on the leading edge of EV technology and for leading the industry worldwide. #Tesla #evcharginginfrastructure #evcharging #electricvehicles #electrification #charginginfrastructure #chargingstations https://lnkd.in/gMjZHrGf

Greater reliability of publicly funded #evcharging infrastructure is the clear preference in poll. UK set 99% (based on average of operator’s network for chargers 50kw and above with penalties of £10,000) however Australia has proposed 98% reliability standard, unclear on penalties etc. Is Australia setting the new reliability standard too low? Tesla is at 99.95% (2022) but others have struggled to achieve 98% (noting legacy issues with first gen chargers and out of warranty etc). #evcharging #EVInfrastructure #evcharginginfrastructure #electricvehicles
