Empowering women in renewable energy isn't just about equality—it's about harnessing untapped potential for a more sustainable future.
RMI is proud to support initiatives like the Women in Renewable Energy Mentorship Program, a professional development group for women working in energy in island nations. Let's keep building our own tables and creating space for all voices in the energy transition.
Energized after #CREF2024 last week! Super inspired from the discussions around gender equity in the energy transition, especially those held at our Women in Renewable Energy Luncheon.
🌟 Did you know that women are leading the way in the clean energy revolution?
In 2018, the Women in Clean Energy (WICE) initiative was developed in efforts to foster a community of support, solidarity, and camaraderie for self-identifying North Carolinian professional women in the clean energy industry. Within the first year, more than 600 women participated in several networking events held across the state.
Women in clean energy are breaking barriers and making significant contributions to the industry.
Their innovative ideas and unique perspectives are driving positive change in the fight against climate change.
There is a growing recognition of the importance of diversity in leadership roles within the clean energy sector.
Empowering women in clean energy not only benefits the industry but also the planet as a whole.
Let's continue to uplift and support women in clean energy as they pave the way towards a sustainable future.

Encouraging and supporting women to pursue studies and careers in science, particularly in oil and gas fields, is essential for fostering diversity, innovation, and progress. By providing women with the same chances as men, we not only tap into a wider pool of talent and perspectives but also create a more inclusive and equitable society.
Breaking down barriers and biases is crucial in ensuring that women can contribute their skills and expertise to industries vital for energy needs. 💥
On this Women in Energy Wednesday, here is an article from our Host Media partner ESI Africa, on the importance of empowering women in the power and energy industry to ensure policies and strategies align with their needs.

On International Women's Day, we acknowledge the incredible contributions women make to our world every day.
As such, we must pause to celebrate the contribution of women in the energy sector. While this field has historically been mostly represented by men, we are proud to recognise the growing presence and influence of women within OW Ocean Winds. However, the numbers are still low in the market, with women making up only 21% of the wind energy sector - still a huge gap!
At OW Ocean Winds, we strongly believe that real progress happens when everyone is involved. In 2023, women comprised 38% of our hires, reflecting our commitment to providing equal opportunities for women and fostering an inclusive workplace where everyone, regardless of gender, can thrive and succeed.
To keep promoting and increasing numbers in the future, we also commit to encouraging involvement from early on. At OW Ocean Winds, we promote educative opportunities and encourage young girls to explore #stem fields, working to break down barriers and encourage the talent of future female engineers!
Diversity is key to driving progress.
