Today, if you live anywhere but the #Netherlands 😉, I challenge you to take a walk and observe how the noise from #cars and other vehicular traffic affects you. How does it affect the path or route you choose to walk? How does it make you feel in your body and mind? Do you sense a bit of stress? How does it make you feel toward others? Those you've never even met? Do you catch yourself rolling your eyes when a truck rolls by with heavy tires on the pavement and a grumbling engine (or is that just me)? It is only when more people tune in and pay attention to their own experiences, to how different elements in their environments make them feel, that we can create consensus for change. It's too often that people are putting old narratives above their own truths. #urbanplanning #urbandesign #trafficmanagement #trafficengineering #citiesforpeople #consciousliving

In the quiet and calm Leeuwarden city, even during the weekdays, cars or motorcycles do not bother people. So somebody can bring a machine to play music, confident that people will hear it while strolling through the city. However, it also cheers them up. It is worthwhile when we have a quiet city to play our traditional music to protect our culture and what has been handed down from the past. This is especially critical for the new generation to keep in touch with traditions unconsciously In the book "Curbing Traffic" it is mentioned that urban noise is a common problem, and the vast majority of it is created by motor vehicles.
