Team work is all about empowering each of the person with responsibilities that they excel at. I remember one such incident when I was working long ago at a store. The store was a small one with decent footfalls. We were once tasked with selling the maximum units of a product and compete with the bigger stores in beating their numbers as a part of a contest. Taking into consideration the challenge, the manager divided the task among the team mates. Few were to focus on the display and the visibility to make it attractive. Another set was tasked with upselling. The third set was tasked with cold calling and the last set of people were to raise the indent to ensure adequate stocks at all times. The outcome was we came 2nd amongst all stores in the country which at the beginning seemed completely out of reach. It not only boosted the morale of the team but also helped in bonding better based on their strengths and teamwork. How I like to share long-lasting, effective praise and recognition when a team member does something well: I am specific with the BEHAVIOR I am recognizing, not just the end result. Example: Great job asking open-ended questions to your guest. You really uncovered their needs and it allowed you to build an even larger basket than their initial request. I don’t just say ‘great job building the basket.’ I am specific with what behavior they did to drive that end result. Recognizing the behavior that led to the result reinforces what you want them to continue. #retail #coachingforsuccess

On a daily basis I share a quote with my team whether it be on our RueMail or writing it on our board. Today this was our quote. Sharma Questions to ask yourself and your team: * How are you making an IMPACT on every guest that walks in? * How do you motivate yourself and your peers throughout your day/ shift? Are you recognizing the wins more than the losses? Are you reminding every single member of your team that they are a GIFT and Leaders? * How are you ensuring you’re providing that GIFT experience? * Are you doing it for the people? If so, how are you ensuring every guest is leaving feeling like a GIFT? *Are you informing them of ongoing promotions that’ll help them save money? Are you informing them of the loyalty program that’ll benefit them in the short and long term? Are you emphasizing the benefits of the store card and their perks? * Are you establishing that personal relationship with the guest by exchanging names and saying YES? Lots of times we as humans stay within our job description and won’t do more. However, how are you going to make an IMPACT if you’re not willing to go above and beyond. Never limit yourself because of pay or because it’s above what you were hired for. When you are in it for the people, there is no job description nor any limit. Let me tell you what I am. I am a passionate human being that has found the way to become the climate of the environment it represents. I work, and I don’t even realize that I work because I put it in my mind as in part of my life journey, so it develops into a stigma of Importance and therefore my work becomes my life journey. It is not my fault, but I imagine and see bigger in situations regarding sales as well as presentation. If I see that clearance is posted in the front of the store and I believe it should be in the back, I want to say something, but I feel that Intimidation or change is what normally most managers or supervisors have been holding onto. Let go of that! Let the passion become real so the main thing is make sales and have more customers by using what you call custom service and what I mean by customer service is Real customer service, and time condition. What I mean by time condition is know how to treat everyone at the right time at the right place, according to how they appear at your presence correctly. What I mean by appear is what importance is it off and what is the matter of the question or do you know what it is ahead of time because you’re used to these type of customers that are different we have a listing of that type of customers, but all of them should be treated completely kind and show intentions of going the extra mile for them. Now, not everyone can do this. Only the great ones can but the great ones don’tknow how to teach it! Please, everyone that works at a sales Company like Ross or DD or Dollar Tree even Bloomingdale or Macy’s or the taco stand or the Bubba stand, know how to time your customers and make a sale. Make a sale but don’t push it as desperate or to humble to not have store pride. The meaning of a store supertar is a team player that educates the crew with their style. Managers need to make them know that they are superstars, but make sure that that superstar knows how to share the teaching.

Retail teams not provided with teas, coffee, milk(s), snacks 4. Retail teams having lower discounts than corporate 5. Retail teams finally sitting for a 30 minute lunch break on a broken hard plastic chair from 1998; not cool 6. Retail teams not having access to council or coaching (yet many corporate teams have that) 7. Retail teams not having tools to do thier jobs efficiently 8. Retail teams being fully blamed when product sell through is poor Should I go on!? Every time I visit Starbucks I am amazed with the spiritual atmosphere over there The ambiance is so soothing The surroundings are so peaceful And the Coffee there just taste awesome The moment you enter there be it any time of the day the staffs always greet you with so much energy and a broad smile And while they book your order they make you feel special by asking your Name And when your coffee is ready they call call you by your name along with the kind of coffee you ordered Sometimes they serve you at your table And the interiors there , the furnitures there , the wall paintings there are so simple and yet so unique In case you want to cancel the drink and order another one you can even do that They are so Customer focussed …. I feel like home there Starbucks is my all time favourite Cafe And all these value I experience in Starbucks ❤️ reminds me of the 7 Principles of Management 💯💪💪💪 1. Customer Focus 2. Leadership 3. Engagement of People 4. Process Approach 5. Improvement 6. Evidence based decision making 7.
