To be honest, I think a lot of physical password storing are actually quite strong as long as there's good physical safety precautions taken. You're probably at the minimal risk of clipboard hijacking of any method since you can never just lazily copy and paste it from a book. If someone gains access to your machine with a password manager logged-in then there is unrestricted ability to get into accounts unless you have MFA verses if you were keeping a book on your person. How one should store their passwords really depends on their threat model and the way they will interact with those methods.
