#mondaymotivational thinking. While having a good chat with my friend Sam Dennis this morning, the approach to #networking came up. As many of you may know, I prioritize networking to the max at every level. Human #connection and #intimacy is important for any level of trust that could lead to business. Our friends at LinkedIn call this multi-threading :) But how do you start? What do you say? Do you go in with an angle or POV? These are all #paralyzing questions that typically prevent us from starting in the first place. In my opinion, there's 2 types of networkers: 1. Purpose led networking. Simply put, you have a purpose to be there at an event, approach others online or offline and tend to keep it short and straight to the point. It can be effective but can lead to a narrow relationship. 2. People led networking. This one is more my style. Sure, a common purpose led you both there but emphasis is learning more about the person before the purpose. If you are genuine in your interest in another's life, trust will typically lead to purpose. It does take time but builds a much wider relationship spectrum. #linkedin keen to hear your thoughts. Why do you #network and what works for you? . . . #networking #networkingtips #networkingevents #people #peoplematter #learninganddevelopment #community #communication #salescoaching #networkisyournetworth #purposedrivenlife #peopledevelopment

Do you avoid 'networking' because it feels like you're sucking-up? Networking is NOT sucking-up! If you believe that, you'll set a perception in your mind that will block one of the most powerful tools you have in your arsenal. It's actually one of the most growth-oriented activities you can invest in – if you look at it the right way. Throughout your career, you'll come up against barriers that will stand in your way. At those moments, the difference between standing still and knocking them down will be the relationships you hold with those who have the ability to remove those barriers. If you already have those relationships, the amount of time you spend standing still will be massively reduced. That's why 'networking' is a prime example of 'Communicating' – a #GreenBehaviour...growth. Instead of calling it 'networking', call it 'relationship building' and it should help put a positive spin on what this is REALLY about. Why not subscribe to my weekly newsletter 'Time for a Quickie' and I'll tell you who you should build your next relationship with to remove barriers to you and your team delivering results. Today, I came across a post that said, "Networks are important and networking is important, but real networks come out of a true heartfelt connections, value-bound relationships and not a business minded approach." I totally agree with this statement. Heart felt connections focus on creating authentic, emotional connections with others, where trust, empathy, and a shared commitment to each other's success are central. These connections form the foundation of strong and enduring networks that can provide support, collaboration, and fulfillment in both personal and professional spheres. Building relationships based on genuine emotions and a heartfelt approach can lead to a richer, more meaningful network. #Networking #ProfessionalRelationships #Authenticity #Trust #Empathy #SharedValues #BusinessRelationships #SupportiveNetworks #RelationshipBuilding #EmotionalIntelligence #HeartfeltConnections #NetworkingTips #BuildingConnections #LinkedInInsights #BusinessMindedVsHeartfeltNetworking #TrueConnections
