Epidemiologist | Health Economist/Econometrician | Reporting Analyst | Data Analyst | PowerBI Analyst | Researcher | Manager
This is quite difficult to write, all my previous LinkedIn posts have been good news stories, this is not. For the last few months I have been trying to take my reporting, epidemiology, data analysis, PowerBI, and many other skills into the private sector. So far, I have only had one interview and all the feedback (on pre interview rejections) I have received states the reason I have not progressed to an interview is because of lack of private sector experience. I think my driven attitude to work combined with experience in the public sector during the fast paced, high-pressure period of the Pandemic would make me a great candidate for a hiring manager who is looking for someone with a slightly different background. But I have not even had a chance to show this to a hiring manager during an interview yet. So far, I have applied myself through company websites, Seek, LinkedIn, etc. This is the first time I am applying in the private sector and I have had little success. So given this poor result I thought I would try a new approach and put it out to my network. So, if you, know any hiring manager or company (I would love something healthcare related but would also be love the chance to learn about a new industry) who is looking for a data analyst, reporting analyst/epidemiologist/PowerBI analyst/something else with R, Python, SQL, PowerBI, Excel, and more skills with a penchant for getting things done; I would greatly appreciate you letting me know. I wouldn’t be the best candidate for every data analyst role (not even close) but for a hiring manager who is looking for someone with a slightly different background, who really gets things done, I think I would be a great candidate. [Edit: there was a longer version of this explaining in more detail as well as recounting a few humorous near misses. LinkedIn has a maximum post length though so I cut a lot of that, in doing so I also removed a paragraph stating I would be willing to work in the NGO sector, LHN/LPHU, non-profit health service, (or perhaps even federal/interstate public service for the right role). Also if anyone knew of a Health Economics Supervisor looking for a PhD candidate to examine healthcare utilisation during the COVID-19 Pandemic, again I would be interested with the right supervisor.] Thanks, Patrick

Actively seeking full-time statistical analysis role | Biostatistics MS '24 @ Columbia Mailman School of Public Health
Hi, LinkedIn friends! I'm Jasmine, a recent Biostatistics MS graduate from Columbia Mailman School of Public Health. I'm seeking my first statistical analysis role and hope you can help. Before coming to Mailman, I completed a master's in Health Behaviors and Community Sciences at National Taiwan University with a journal publication on Cancer Control. Later, I worked on a national project for delivering comprehensive pediatric healthcare for three years. I managed a database with nearly 50,000 children's health data and had cross-department communication experience with government agencies in Taiwan. At Mailman, I polished my skills and knowledge of statistical methods. I worked on multiple projects using R, SAS and SQL programming languages. I'm interested in many health-related topics, including chronic disease prevention, cancer survivorship, clinical trials and genetic studies. For example, I conducted a GWAS study on the ROSMAP dataset to explore common SNPs associated with Alzheimer's disease, hypertension and diabetes. I applied nonparametric and semiparametric estimators with R using simulated data to estimate dose-response functions for my practicum. I'm actively looking for full-time biostatistician/statistical analyst positions. Besides, I would love to integrate my health policy, project management, and biostatistics skills to contribute to the healthcare industry. Hence, I'm also interested in project/research manager positions. I'm open to remote jobs and on-site and hybrid roles in the United States. Feel free to tag, share, or otherwise boost my post or to reach out to me directly with questions or opportunities. I appreciate your help! #opentowork #statisticalanalysis #statistician #biostatistician #statisticalanalyst
