Back in 2014, I had the opportunity to serve as the Executive Director for Oakland Leaf Foundation or 4 years. I grew so much from that experience and those that I had a privilege to work with and serve. One of the greatest gifts I received was the practice of appreciation. At Oakland Leaf they end every meeting with much loves, an appreciation for one another. This practice has continued throughout my life. In my family, we share what we are grateful for at dinner every evening. At Global Citizen Year, we end our weekly staff meetings with shout outs for each other. My personal reflection, I start every day writing down 3 things I am grateful for. This practice of gratefulness grounds me, gives much needed perspective and brings me a daily dose of joy. Much love to Oakland Leaf for this incredible gift. #gratefulness #weeklymuchloves #muchlovemondays #appreciation
Seeing this made my day. It is one of the practices we hope our staff and youth take away from program. It's a simple yet powerful practice with far-reaching positive effects on individual and collective experiences.
This is so nice! I remember your days at Oakland Leaf!
