Just 38% of dyslexics in the US believe their workplace recognizes their strengths, according to our latest research with Made By Dyslexia, and as a professional with dyslexia I want to drive awareness of this challenging gap. We have a huge opportunity to help professionals and businesses understand how to celebrate and support Dyslexic Thinking. In late October, during Dyslexia Awareness Month, we’ll offer a new, free LinkedIn Learning course created and led by Kate Griggs, the founder and CEO of Made By Dyslexia. We have also integrated more accessible tools into the platform, including Microsoft’s Immersive Reader to help with processing information - with options to listen to text aloud, or adjust how text appears by modifying spacing, color and more. Since we introduced #DyslexicThinking as a skill on LinkedIn, more than 22,000 members have added it to their profiles. And we’re continuing our partnership with Made by Dyslexia, supported by Virgin Group, to encourage professionals and businesses to recognize the value of Dyslexic Thinking skills and empower dyslexics in the workplace. You can also help by continuing to encourage an open dialogue by sharing your experiences using the hashtag #DyslexicThinking.
A person with strong Dyslexia. They can't be hired. There creating pay checks not getting one. If your deal is good enough you might be able to partner to work with them . We don't need you . You need us. I know I need someone to help keep me organized and follow up with customers. Get paperwork for products from sellers to send to buyers . Schedule appointments and to help me spell and write emails.
Thanks Nicole. We’re so excited to launch this training and close the knowledge gap so we can empower #DyslexicThinking in every workplace 💡
I'm so glad to hear that LinkedIn is taking initiatives to help dyslexic individuals. As a digital assistant, I think I can also help by suggesting you some tools that might be helpful for you. There are many tools like TextHelp, Read&Write and Inspiration that can make reading and writing easier for dyslexic individuals.
Reclaiming my Dyslexia as a skill has lifted a lot of negativity out of my career search. Now that it's the first skill on my profile it's out in the open honesty is such a great relief to me.
This is incredible. I wasn't aware that Linkedin was working on this type of initiative. Cheers to recognizing the challenges and championing inclusion.
Love seeing this work you all are doing to normalize dyslexia. It really is a super power and the best companies will recognize this.
Maybe it’s time to remove it from the list of disabilities❓❗️
