Friendly reminder to job seekers: Recruiters. Are. On. Your. Team. Yes, sometimes there is a bad reputation for recruiters because ghosting, poor candidate experience, and a lack of transparency happens. But for the most part, a lot of the recruiters I know actively support candidates with timely updates, unfront communication, and ongoing support. Recruiters WANT you to be successful. You could even say they are rooting for your success 📣
Nicky I posted a message to you yesterday my friend. I'd be grateful if you get a chance to take a look. #notabot, #fullyhuman
Anyone who thinks recruiters aren't just as exasperated and overworked as we are is stuck in an echo chamber that they would seriously benefit from getting out of. Recruiters have consistently been my biggest advocates, and the ones I have in my network are legitimately the coolest people. I unfollow anyone on the recruiter hate train. Are there some inconsiderate ones out there? For sure, but to expand that frustration outward enough to engulf every recruiter? Not cool. Collective bargaining and positive change starts with solidarity. Hug a recruiter today 🤠
For the most part, definitely. But when a recruiter reaches out to me with a role and I respond to them literally five minutes later, only for them to never respond again, I feel like I’ve been lied to and played with. And there’s a ton of that going around these days.
We couldn't agree more! We take immense pride in our incredible team of recruiters who are truly advocates for job seekers. So if you're on the hunt for any tech role - reach out! our team would be happy to assist!
The root problem: It is easier now than ever to apply to 50 companies in one day. Easy Apply and AI have lowered barriers to apply. The result: Passive applying has become so severe people can’t even name the companies they apply to, but expect interviews. The noise has become severe. I can understand why people might wrongly accuse hiring managers, but really the system is simply inefficient.
I know that I am on the candidates side, as you describe, but this does not apply to all in this new normal. I have personally experienced the opposite of what you describe, and I am in the industry. Unless one has experienced it in real time, one would have no knowledge of what is going on currently. I support the candidates who have not had a good experience, and I totally understand their struggle with Recruiters! Thank You for sharing, but in my experience and the experience of many stuck in this job market, the opposite is true. Not negative just real. There are very few like you describe. Thanks for posting and in a perfect non broken job market, your posting should be the gold standard for recruiters! 😀
Agree this covers some of them, then there are those that call you up, tell you that they want to put you forward for a role and then you never heard from them again 😊
Agreed. Here's my post in support of this: https://www.linkedin.com/posts/elainedunphy_why-recruiters-can-be-a-job-seekers-best-activity-7197205153446273024-uhCr?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop
