"After 11 days on Netflix, “Society of the Snow” has punched 51 million views, hitting Netflix’s Top 10 biggest non-English language films list at No. 10." https://lnkd.in/dEj65QgN
Such a skeptic thinking they could not elevate the story originally told by the 1993 Production of "Alive". Pleasantly surprised by not only their visuals but the narrative story telling and pacing that actually enhanced and highlighted characters that were more muted in the original. This was executed so well from writing to production, cinematography to vfx that kept you in the story, this was a masterclass in re-storytelling. A+
I’m 63 years old, watch the original in 1993 and was freaked out about it then. Flash forward 30 years to watch this version of it in absolutely impressed with the filmmaking and was wondering the whole time if I was just watching the one I watched 30 years ago? I watched it with my teenage daughters and told them to hold on and try to stick through it. Of course, young kids couldn’t keep their attention span with the dubbed in English thing at the beginning of the movie. I told them just kind of watch and put your phones down! Give it a chance, I said. More interesting than the movie was to watch my 17 and 16-year-old daughters put their phones away and start to get emotionally involved with the story. Natalie improving what an amazing true life story it was, moral values, and decisions about life and surviving included. Agreeing with some of the comments, what would you do? It’s easy to watch a show like that in three hours, but can you really imagine living through it for 70 days? Nobody can.
Esse merecia ter tido estréia no cinema, filme incrível.
Epic story-telling, bringing enhancements from the Hollywood 1993 version, Alive.
The trailer is so good and realistic that I’m scared to watch the movie yet.
This movie wasn't bad, but it is not even closed to the original, the original film was a masterpiece and the acting was superb.
We are very proud to have been able to contribute to the localisation of this cinematic masterpiece! Great job, Netflix!
Incredible film.
Yesterday I was on my bike, freezing to death even though I was well equipped, and I immediately thought of you Netflix and this movie and thought "how did they seriously do that?" It's a beautiful film and above all an incredibly true story that I don't think many people of my age in France knew about, so thank you for bringing a little intensity to our winter hibernation 🍿 🎥
