Currently an Associate Professor of Management at Ramapo College of New Jersey, his work sits at the critical nexus of technology and business. Prior to his academic tenure, Dr. Varma contributed significantly to the tech industry as a developer, architect, product manager, and consultant. He has been instrumental in designing sustainable platforms and ecosystems for several blockchain startups, aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In his ongoing role as Technology Lead for the Algorand Foundation in India, Dr. Varma guides a vibrant technical community in crafting enterprise-grade blockchain solutions. His contributions are vital in positioning India as an innovation hub within the Algorand Technologies ecosystem. Dr. Varma is also an esteemed guest professor at Molde University College (and previously Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi) and a prolific speaker, sharing his insights on sustainable decentralization at institutions and companies worldwide. "Towards a New Theory of Organisatonal Technology Pre-Adoption Decisions: The Case of Blockchain" My doctoral #research has been an incredible journey, focusing on the critical intersection of #theory and #practice in the realm of #blockchain technology adoption. As blockchain continues to transform industries and reshape our #digital landscape, understanding the decision-making processes that precede its adoption is paramount. As we traverse the Fourth Industrial Revolution #4IR #fourthindustrialrevolution in a world where #innovation happens at an unprecedented #pace, my research delves into the intricate nuances of why organisations choose to embrace blockchain technology and, conversely, why some may hesitate or delay. My contributions were building a #framework for oganisations to evaluate #emerging #technologies, a #novel #theory about #preadoption, and identification of #key #factors that influence pre-adoption decisions. My #contributions provide practical insights that guide businesses, policymakers, technology enthusiasts, and academics alike. Throughout this academic pursuit, I have had the privilege of working with brilliant professionals, collaborating with industry experts, and engaging in stimulating discussions with peers who share my #passion for harnessing technology's potential.
