One question has closed more deals for me than anything else in my sales career. "I have an assumption, but why is that important for you to fix?" followed by: "Makes sense, but with everything you have going on...why focus on this now?" Ok, that's technically 2 questions. But you get the point. #sales #discovery

When I first started out in sales over 15 years ago I was the top rep in new applications. In my first week I brought in 10+ new applications while the #2 rep brought in 4 and he was with the company over 6 years. I was thrilled and so was my mentor, because he got to close all those deals. I got promoted to a closing role after 90 days and I still continued to be the top rep in new meetings and new applications. But there was a major problem. My deals weren't moving and would either die out early-mid cycle or be so difficult to close that it wasn't worth the company's time and resources. So I got help. I hired a sales coach and learned to master the art of sales follow up and strategic selling. Getting the attention of a potential buyer is a tough part of the job but with hard work and the right equation of metrics anyone can be successful. The most challenging part of sales is getting buyers to sign on the dotted line. It takes strategy and consistent follow up with multiple stakeholders. If you're struggling to get your deals over the finish line don't wait until you're on a PIP or lose your job. Seek out help from an expert and become a master at your craft.

Degree👤 by degree👥 I agree with Bryan: It’s the “A” in “BA” “Business ADMINISTRATION” But sales isn’t an administrative job. It’s a skills job. So how do we measure skill? #b2b #b2bsales #sales #salescareers #salesleadership
