Bus, plane, train, car, taxi, elevator, walking, boat, ferry, barge, hoist, line dancing...you name it, I probably took it as mode of transport as I worked on the Queensland Home Care Workforce Support Program.
If I could swim, I would have, to connect the strands of all the great work already happening to create better outcomes for older people through the workforce lens. Maybe not with the crocs though.
Because that's the thing with these types of Programs, its not always about re-creating the wheel. Sometimes its about uncovering nuggets of gold that are already there and listening, learning, understanding and then finding the best way to wrap funding and supports around to enable the best chance of success. Making a connection to strengthen that spark of innovation.
Then connecting that wisdom right back to the top where it needs to be heard to hopefully help guide the ship in the right direction.
And I tell you what, can the line dancers of of the north tear up a dance floor!
We are down to our last few spots for our forums next week, don't miss this opportunity to hear from Emeritus Professor Julie Byles AO B Med, PhD who led the program’s independent evaluation. Regos close tomorrow.
