Building High-Performing Sales Teams in the US & Europe for Life Sciences & Healthcare | Recruiting Top Sales Talent, from Individual Contributor to Executive Leadership
Is a career in sales discussed in schools? I had dinner last night with a school friend, and we reminisced about the limited career advice we received back in our school days. The primary options presented to us were pursuing professional degrees like law or medicine, or learning a trade like plumbing or bricklaying. A career in sales was never even mentioned… Granted this was almost 25 years ago, but I wonder - has the career guidance in schools changed much since then? Cultural attitudes towards sales careers differ between the UK and US, but sales roles remain overlooked. Sales shouldn't be an afterthought for schools offering career guidance. Sales jobs are widely available across industries and provide significant earnings and advancement opportunities for driven individuals. Even for those who pursue other fields, sales teaches valuable soft skills like communication, emotional intelligence, and determination. With salaries that can scale well for top performers, students deserve to at least have sales presented as a viable career option when planning their post-graduation path. I believe career counselors should cover the range of sales roles, typical earning potential, and how students can gain relevant skills and experience. I’m keen to hear from my US connections - is sales given more consideration in American schools and universities? #sales #salescareers #salesjobs

some points to note!
🎈Your JOB is temporary. Your position is temporary. Here is the thing. You will be remembered not by how many hours you worked, nor by your positions, nor by your titles. You will be remembered by the chances you gave to others, by every time you stood up for them, by the difference you made in their lives. Jobs are like buses. There is another one coming. But what you do for others is forever. Someone gave you a chance, that's why you are where you are. So please give someone a chance, today ! #technology #management #sales
