Fun fact: For a long time, companies have been trying to save money on call center stuff - that's still a goal now. But, at the same time, they keep giving more money to do market research (like talking to people in focus groups, asking customers questions, and other things) every year. Pause and think - both the call center and market research do the same thing: they talk to customers. The big difference is that the call center talks to all the customers, like everyone, and lots of potential customers all the time, every day, all year round (24x7x365). On the flip side, market research talks to a pretty small group of people only 3-4 times a year.
