Why does that Cherry on top of the cake ACTUALLY matters ? Because of the principle of Outside-In #beauty : The idea that how things look on the outside, make individuals feel a certain way in the inside. Each colour, decorative element, and placement radiates a certain frequency that will resonate or not with individuals. During an #event, Soissons leverages on this Outside-In effect of Beauty to open the heart of your guests and bring them back into the present moment, in a state of full openness. Exactly where you want to meet them, with your brand! Just like that cherry...Beauty is the little plus that simply make one event more meaningful than another. #eventdesign #aesthetics #floraldesign #artdelatable #eventplanning

Should I wear my concert T-shirt to work? For a metalhead, the question of what shirt to wear and which shirt to wear is crucial. It defines what you want to be known for and who you want to be known by. It defines your mood and potentially the mood of the day / evening you're going to spend and the people you're going to meet. In the workplace, wearing a metal T-shirt must have a different meaning. We talk about it in 2020 in our "HR and Metal Session" (see pict in first comment) - This is one of the pillars of our club. It says to other metalheads wearing suits and ties: "I'm visible. I'm visible and the values of metal are also the values I believe in in the workplace: positivity, acceptance, tolerance... and if we disagree, let's mosh - if that doesn't reconcile us, it will bound us." If you're an official MSC member, we encourage you to feature our crest on your LinkedIn profile. This way, those interested in joining us can introduce themselves, ask for you sponsorship and apply to the club. Let's promote our community and our business intelligence Dan Goldberg for the article 🤘 #metalheads #united - Metality - Metal Business Club

Sometimes examples of #acceptance and #belonging pop up in unusual places. On May 27, @TheWisconsinCenter hosted both Maker Festivals, attended by knitters, stitchers and jewelry makers, and The Oddities & Curiosities Expo, which gathered vendors and artists of “all thing’s weird.” The expo included preserved specimens, original artwork and horror/Halloween inspired items of all kinds. The fest included classes in knitting and quilting, the expo included a class on taxidermy. Two very different crowds, right? But both groups appreciate creativity and the opportunity to meet and share with friends. According to one of The Wisconsin Center’s security staffers, she saw attendees of both events cheerfully wandering over to the other area. Curiosity lead to understanding and the discovery of similarities as well as fascinating differences. There was no issue hosting these two groups simultaneously. While it’s easy to say this example is pretty extreme (and a bit comical), it demonstrates that creating a “safe” space is not about like-minded people, it’s about open-minded people. #inclusionmatters #cultureofbelonging #openmindedness

Romance is in the air as Qixi Festival approaches, falling this year on August 22nd. Inspired by Chinese mythology, the festival can be traced back more than 2,000 years. It is centred around the myth of two star-crossed lovers; Zhinu, the daughter of a goddess, and Niulang, the mortal she falls in love with. The lovers are separated by Zhinu’s goddess mother, but are able to reunite once a year during Qixi Festival when magpies form a bridge connecting heaven and Earth. In recent years, brands including Loewe, Clarins, Laneige and Moschino have honoured this myth in their advertising campaigns. This year, several brands have even featured real-life couples, highlighting their love as something for consumers to emulate. Louis Vuitton featured husband and wife team supermodel Xi Mengyao and entrepreneur Mario Ho in the run up to the festival, while Balenciaga shared a sweet video featuring a couple from Shanghai. Fashion houses and beauty brands alike are well aware of the importance of this festival for their Chinese consumers. During the 2022 festival, sales for popular gifts soared by 103% for lipstick, 280% for gold jewellery and 400% for fashion compared to the year before. Post-pandemic, consumers are keen to treat their loved ones (and perhaps themselves!) during this most romantic of holidays. Image: Maison Margiela Statistics source: Jing Daily

Emerging Danish designer Nicklas Skovgaard’s debut show was one of the buzziest shows so far at Copenhagen Fashion Week, with a performance from model and former ballet dancer Britt Liberg. Liberg dressed and undressed herself, switching between various Skovgaard looks and dancing between 16 mannequins, also wearing the brand. This type of show “moment” is increasingly common in London or Paris, but less so in the other fashion capitals. And, while some of Copehagen’s growing labels like A Roege Hove or Division have created viral or performative show elements in recent seasons, it’s rare for a new talent to break from catwalk tradition. For emerging designers, it is a relatively low-cost way to cut through the growing hype around fashion weeks, versus high-budget moving sets or extravagant venues — though there’s a risk when relying on a performance or stunt going to plan.
