Economic Revitalization: “Haunted Texas” promises a wave of job opportunities, from the craftsmen shaping our attractions to the tech wizards behind our virtual experiences. We are not just building a park; we are uplifting local businesses and crafting a tourist destination that will channel vital revenue back into our beloved county, enhancing public services and infrastructure. Social Harmony: At its core, “Haunted Texas” will be a gathering place—a venue for events that weave the fabric of our society tighter, fostering pride and solidarity. Our interactive exhibits aren’t just about thrills; they’re about education, about delving into the depths of our state’s past to bring to light the stories that shaped us. A Safer Community: Our youth are the architects of tomorrow, and through “Haunted Texas,” we offer them a path away from the crossroads of delinquency. By partnering with justice programs, we’re also paving a road to redemption for ex-offenders, believing in second chances and the power of rehabilitation. Family Bonds: Families are the cornerstone of Williamson County, and our park is dedicated to creating a space where they can forge lifelong memories. We understand the challenges faced by families of incarcerated individuals and extend our support to them, aiming to bring solace and joy into their lives. Preventing Crime, Promoting Trust: We stand with the Texas Criminal Justice Coalition in the belief that prevention is pivotal. “Haunted Texas” will actively support diversion programs for at-risk youth and collaborate with law enforcement to build bridges of trust between them and the communities they protect. “Haunted Texas” is more than a name; it’s a commitment to our county’s prosperity, security, and heart. So excited for this next step for Licking County! Today myself and others from the Licking County Reentry Coalition Steering Committee completed our training to begin hosting a Citizen Circle monthly for Licking County. 🙌🙌🙌 Taken directly from ODRC: “Citizen Circles create partnerships that promote positive interactions, social support, and accountability for justice-involved individuals. Together, justice-involved individuals and Citizen Circle members embark on a journey of transformation to create fundamental changes in people, relationships, and communities. Citizen Circles provide a holistic and collective approach to individuals at any stage of their reentry. Many need assistance immediately upon release; however, at times others who have been released for a period of time may need specific assistance from the Circle, such as obtaining employment. Goals of Citizen Circles include: Reintegration: To support individuals with a seamless transition back to Ohio communities. Community Partnerships: Community members take an active role in developing partnerships to assist individuals. Accountability: Justice-involved individual’s responsibility and commitment to positive change.”
