"A U.S. appeals court upheld Nasdaq's board diversity rule on Wednesday, requiring companies listed on the exchange to have women and minority directors on their boards or explain why they do not." Data transparency is at the core our work, and is one of our foundational tenants as a company. We see transparency as the first step towards DEI advocacy and understanding the materiality value of Human Capital. This is what we strive for. Transparency and disclosure. As both, Latino Corporate Directors Association (LCDA) and Association of LGBTQ+ Corporate Directors, prepare to convene its members in the next few days and weeks to connect, engage, and advance inclusive governance, we lead with hope. For our communities, it’s not an issue of supply or lowering expectations. It’s an issue of visibility. We react to what we see on the pages of a website. The way a board of directors and executive leadership “looks” like seems to supersede, but the reality is that race & ethnicity has no color or visible physical characteristics. The sustaining of the ruling holds firm that corporations have a choice to be transparent. Those who do not disclose should we questioned. As investors, we seek to better understand how and by whom our investments are managed by. It’s only fair. Thank you to all who banded together, including LCDA, to make this ruling a reality.
