The future of farming is fair trade... ⚖️ It’s World Fair Trade Day – and that’s something we take very seriously indeed... After gaining fair-trade certification for its Shea products in 2009, L’OCCITANE en Provence has been awarded 100% fair-trade certification of its Verbena, Rose, and Cade collections through the Fair for Life program. These certifications, awarded in 2023, formalize our brand’s longstanding commitment to helping producers to embrace new farming practices – and we plan to achieve fair-trade certifications for all the brand’s iconic product lines by 2025. #LOCCITANEenProvence #LOCCITANEGroup #fairtradebeauty #regenerativefarming

🌍 Taking care of the Earth and those who cultivate it: at Cordier, we talk about it today, but we act all year round. #EarthDay Soil health in viticulture: unique collaboration on vine cover between InVivo Foundation, Bioline and Cordier by InVivo. Soil health in viticulture is one of the 4 themes of Cordier CSR strategy #Terra360, as it is a major priority on economic, societal and environmental levels. It plays a crucial role in improving grape productivity, regulating the use of inputs and ensuring wine quality. It is in this context that the InVivo Fondation, Cordier and Bioline teams have been working together on the theme of vine weed control. This project, which began in Languedoc-Roussillon with some 30 "Pioneer" winegrowers from partner cooperative wineries, aims to measure and improve soil vitality, mitigate climatic and environmental impacts, and promote positive economic and social consequences. Supported by the InVivo Foundation, this approach provides invaluable support for winegrowers, from soil analysis to enhancing the value of their heritage. It helps guarantee the health and yield of the vines, to produce a quality wine that respects the environment. On April 4, winegrowers came to visit the Bioline teams on their test platform, to talk about vine weed control using Semences de France mixtures. The aim was to demonstrate how this technique increases profitability, reduces costs, enhances production and contributes to the structural and biological improvement of soils. It also has a positive environmental and social impact, helping to protect biodiversity, store water and carbon, and combat climate change. bioline by InVivo FONDS DE DOTATION INVIVO FOUNDATION InVivo #tiphaineDutrieux Franck ESCALES Robert Eden Sylvain Chaussé Marion Dubosqueille Thomas Bégon Charlotte de Lattre Robin Salmon MARIE ANGELE BENNAVAIL

It's enough to give you the chills, in not a good way. An unknown portion of a shipment of New Zealand kiwifruit must be disposed of due to a mice infestation in the holds of a refrigerated vessel. This was Zespri International's first shipment of the 2024 season to Europe. The pests were found during a standard quarantine clearance process in Zeebrugge, Belgium. All the affected fruit will have to be set aside and destroyed. Reports indicate there were about 1.2 million trays of SunGold kiwifruit onboard the chartered refrigerated vessel. This represents about 0.5 percent of the company's expected crop this year. Zespri, wholly owned by kiwifruit growers and authorised to export nearly all New Zealand kiwifruit by law, anticipates a bumper export season in 2024. A great overview of the progress the Cultivated Meat sector has made recently and the problems it still faces. There have been so many milestones hit with recent approvals and GOOD Meat have seen their product do well in Singapore. Companies like Cargill and Tyson have invested in the space and JBS have even fully acquired BioTech Foods so clearly the traditional meat sector sees potential. However, can these companies use their expertise and deep pockets to solve the problems centred around media cost and cell density? Is this really the tipping point for the market? Will Mark Posts prediction of "around 10 years" before cultivated meat is commercially viable be right? We shall see....
The cultivated meat industry has recently reached major milestones. But, while the future is in sight, there are still barriers to cross. Find out the latest industry news and the challenges that still remain. https://srtrs.info/9chqy #cultivatedmeat #culturedmeat #foodandbeverages

Have you heard of Kernza? Kernza is a perennial grain developed to combat soil erosion while offering a sustainable alternative to traditional annual crops like wheat. Unlike conventional grains, Kernza's deep root system enriches the soil, reduces carbon footprint, and improves water retention. Its cultivation represents a significant shift towards sustainable agriculture by supporting ecosystems and reducing the need for chemical inputs. What food products can we use Kernza in? 🥞 Pancakes and other breads 🍝 Pasta 🍻 Beer (check out how Patagonia Provisions is using this grain in delicious ways!) 🥣 Cereal The name Kernza® is a registered trademark owned by The Land Institute, the research institution that developed Kernza. The name comes from the combination of two words - “Konza”, in recognition of the Konza Prairie Biological Station and “kernel”, the part of the plant that humans rely on for sustenance. Thanks to our Sr. Research Scientist, Allison Koehle for modeling and sharing these insights on this incredible grain! https://lnkd.in/e_Pqn53k

🥑 Have you heard about 'Dusa'? This remarkable clonal rootstock of Mexican origin is making waves in the world of #avocadocultivation!🥑 Introducing 'Dusa' - A Trusted Clonal Rootstock for Avocado Farmers! 'Dusa' has been a game-changer for #avocado farmers in the last decade, performing remarkably well in various soil structures. Notably, it boasts resistance to soil pathogens like #Verticillium wilt and #Phytophthora root rot, ensuring healthy #avocadotrees. It's worth mentioning that 'Dusa' is a patent variety, and Haskelberg proudly represents Westfalia Fruit, the patent holder, in Israel. However, it's essential to consider that 'Dusa' may have limitations in high-salinity environments. As a result, it's not ideal for most regions of Israel, where #avocados are often irrigated with brackish water.
