Senior Brand Marketing Leader | Former Amazon & Edelman

Feels like the end of an era! I'm celebrating 8 years at Amazon today with a bittersweet goodbye to an incredible group of smart and innovative marketers. I leave Amazon with more kids, way more animals, a different zip code and some of the most memorable accomplishments of my career. Thank you to all the leaders at Amazon who believed in me, gave me new opportunities, challenged me, championed me and supported me through all the ups and downs of both my professional and personal life over the past 8 years. Claudine Tim Kari Jo Walter Deborah At the end of the day, people make a job. Whether it was building a new creative development model with Thomas, pumping out comms frameworks with Christopher in under 10 minutes or developing new measurement systems with Stephanie, I learned so much every day from the very talented group of people I got to tackle challenges and opportunities with. But when people ask me what I am most proud of during my time at Amazon, I always say supporting the growth and development of the people around me. I had the opportunity to build a team from the ground up and foster an environment of collaboration, respect and partnership that I always sought in a working environment. Actually, they even let me name the team 😁 and I was able to fill it with hungry, smart, empathetic and kick ass people. The feeling of securing promotions for 50%+ of my team over the past two years and converting multiple amazing contractors to FTEs will stay with me for years to come. Kallie Deborah Kendall Angela Bridget Zeina Allison Kathy Priya Lauren I'm also forever grateful for landing the most incredible manager, mentor and friend, William. I learned more from him over the past four years than anyone else in my career, and it was so much more than marketing strategy and media. I learned how to be a better manager, how to ask great questions, how to ruthlessly prioritize and how to better manage up. He gave me space to fail, coached not criticized when I did fail and gave me a soft place to land so I could keep learning and growing. I'm humbled and proud of the impact I've made over 8 years. I think it's hard to understand your true value and impact while you are heads down in a role, but I leave feeling immensely appreciated by teammates who have reached out from all corners of Amazon around the world about my departure. I'm excited to dive into different opportunities and new challenges with a new team in a few weeks. In the meantime, I’ll be pondering why everyone uses such formal versions of their names on LinkedIn because calling people Thomas, Christopher, William and Deborah is just weird 🙃

What a wonderful coda to 8 amazing years. It has been a pleasure getting to know you, partner with you and be your manager. Your words are so kind and I cherish all the conversations, laughs, tears and debates we had over the years. It helped me become a better manager and person. I know you'll continue to do amazing things and wishing you nothing but the best in your next adventures. 🤗 🙏 💙

Kimbo, your leadership, guidance, and encouragement have greatly influenced my career growth and professional journey -- and for that, I am forever grateful. Your dedication, work ethic, and commitment to our team's success have been infectious, pushing us all to strive harder and aim higher. You've always set the bar high with your unparalleled expertise, determination and support. I will always remember how you advocated for the team and celebrated the small, the big and everything in between. It's with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to an exceptional manager, mentor and friend; though, while I'm sad to see you leave, I am equally thrilled for the new adventure that awaits you. May you find the same fulfillment and joy that you have brought to our team. Keep rocking it 👣 💌 👏

I love everything about this post! As always, work is in large part about the experience you gain, but even more so about the people who learn from and connect with along the way. Very glad we had this time together and wish only good things for you as you move forward. ⭐️
