This achievement, made possible by the fusion of scientific imaging and Google's advanced AI algorithms, reveals surprising new insights into the brain's intricate wiring. It paves the way for new discoveries about how our brains function, transforming our understanding of neurological conditions and the mind itself. 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐯𝐚𝐫𝐝 researchers and 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐀𝐈 experts have achieved a monumental feat in neural mapping. They've successfully scanned a mere cubic millimeter of human brain tissue, revealing the immense complexity and data density of our brain. This endeavour required a staggering 1.4 petabytes of data storage 💾 😲 The process involved slicing the brain sample into 5,000 ultra-thin wafers, imaging each with an electron microscope, and then recombining them to map the intricate neural connections. This meticulous work, significantly accelerated by Google's AI technology, unveils the sheer scale of data our brain holds in just a tiny fraction of its volume. To map the entire brain at this level of detail would require 1.6 zettabytes of storage and an estimated $50 billion investment 💰 , covering a data center footprint of 140 acres 🏟 . Neuralink successfully connected the human brain to a computer.  This marks a pivotal moment in the intersection of neuroscience, artificial intelligence, and the future of humanity. This study brings us one step closer to becoming super humans in terms of thinking power. Brain conditions can be treated much faster and efficiently in the near future. Other side of story is not long before market is offering multiple options for these implants from costly to midrange to cheaper ones. But, isn't that what's already been happening in the medical industry? For all I can say, humanity is travelling at new pace, exploring areas which were never even known to mankind before and there's nothing stopping it. #future #ai #medical #power

FDA has just approved Neuralink to launch its first-in-human clinical study 😳 Founded in 2016 by Elon Musk and a team of seven scientists and engineers, Neuralink is a neurotechnology company that is developing implantable brain-computer interfaces. The company's mission is to build direct communication channels between the brain and computers that would supercharge human capabilities, treat neurological disorders like ALS or Parkinson’s, and ultimately achieve a symbiotic relationship between humans and artificial intelligence. Here's how it works: - Neuralink’s technology would mainly work through an implant called the “Link” - a device about the size of five stacked coins that would be placed inside the human brain through invasive surgery. - The hardware would harbor electrodes capable of both recording neural activity and stimulating specific regions of the brain. - Researchers hope the implant’s powers will also treat paralysis, spinal cord injuries, and brain disorders. Already today using only his brain as a controller a monkey can play a video game, a paralyzed man can walk again thanks to AI, etc. And this is just the tip of the iceberg.
