Hi everyone. I'd like to share with all of you some information about Living Corporate , a great resource for organizations that plan to amplify and connect with Black and Brown communities. Their approach to media campaigns, both internal and external , is very unique in this space. I encourage you to take a look if this is potentially a part of your strategy (or if is not, how they could be). Check out the case studies if you get a chance--really interesting. https://lnkd.in/gkpBbuWi

I unlock scaling culture, community, and connection across complex orgs. A C-Suite's ally for problem solving & catalyst for transformation. Employee experience driver, DE&I advocate, and a communications storyteller.
As someone who led LGBTQ+ and intersectional BRG initiatives for 10+ years at a former agency, this month can be a rollercoaster, full of highs, lows, and unexpected turns that you need to prepared for. But it’s a ride that’s always worth getting on and staying the course for our community. From ensuring that Pride is understood first and foremost as a protest to elevate LGBTQ+ rights and more importantly, this fight is far from over, as an unprecedented amount of anti-LGBTQ+ legislation is being raised and passed right now. We need to stay vigilant in the face of discrimination and work more than ever for our LGBTQ+ siblings not having basic rights taken away. During Pride and beyond, create spaces for employees who are on their journeys so they feel they exist, belong, thrive, and add to the fabric of their organization for their very individual and valuable perspectives. That means having policies that are inclusive. Supporting equal pay, access to growth, promotion, and exposure to excel. Ability to have their ideas be seen for their full identity and not used a prop to check the box. And ultimately not foster a culture of micro aggressions and intolerance that festers an undercurrent of discrimination. Pride needs to be not only be about oppression Olympics, but also the many victory laps we’ve taken on progress. It’s important to tell stories of LGBTQ+ joy. We owe it to our community to share how far we’ve come. Make sure you share stories from your company’s LGBTQ+ voices so they can soar. Realizing that company Pride events may be the only way some people can participate in Pride safely. Let’s remember as global companies, there can we countries, states, and even cities where they live that may not be the safe space where Pride can truly take life in the way they feel most comfortable. I still remember from a global Pride event I ran in 2020, my inbox flooded with appreciation that Pride showed up in BIG ways on their company’s main site and 25+ events were there for them to truly feel seen and engage in. Even helping one employee feel more comfortable coming to work each day was worth it. And that’s why I’m grateful to join another company that is putting a strong and visible foot forward for Pride this year. I can’t wait to be a part of OPEN Pride Global. I hope I can add to the organization from all of my experiences and continue to cultivate a workplace where belonging is at the core. Time to Pride and shine!
Happy Pride to our OPEN family and the rest of the world! We’re so excited for what this season holds — the celebration, remembrance, and important conversations — and we cannot wait to share it all with you! Cable's Diversity Week (https://lnkd.in/g6ygC52i), is an exciting series of conferences and events designed to highlight and advance diversity practices within various industries. Every year, over a thousand top executives come together to participate in this dynamic week. They showcase their company's dedication to diversity, engage in educational sessions, celebrate diversity champions, and collaborate to create best practices. One of the highlights of Diversity Week is the NAMIC Annual National Convention (ANC), themed "Our Legacy, A Mosaic of Possibilities." The convention will be hosted during Diversity Week and promises to be an event not to be missed (https://lnkd.in/gRm8j-wG). As we approach the NAMIC ANC, I'll be shining a spotlight on some of the remarkable leaders in our industries who have generously sponsored NAMIC - ATLANTA, INC.'s Coffee Talk series. These individuals are champions of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) and are dedicated to promoting the importance of equity and inclusion. However, they also recognize the importance of visibility and the need for talented professionals to be recognized for their contributions. Next on our list of Leaders and DE&I champions is a roundtable of NAMIC Chapter Presidents: Denya ChinQuee, MBA (NAMIC New York), Monique Manners, SSBB, PgMP, CFT (NAMIC - South Florida, Inc.), Dwayne Edghill (NAMIC Philadelphia), and Danielle Green (NAMIC - SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, INC.). Our conversation became a journey of discovery, touching on the essence of our 'Why', the nuances of chapter inclusiveness, and forward-thinking strategies in programming and succession planning. NAMIC has a wealth of inspiring leadership, and we've only just begun to uncover its depth and potential. Watch and you'll understand immediately - I hope you enjoy!

I had a thought-provoking experience as a panelist at the Open Arms virtual conference hosted by @From Day One. The conference focused on expanding our understanding of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). Organizations, regardless of size, must acknowledge the significance of DEI initiatives in fostering a culture of belonging and unlocking growth opportunities. As leaders, let's ensure our organizations create programs that honor the unique experiences of our employees. Embracing intersectionality, acknowledging the multiple attributes that shape each person's identity, is crucial. Learn more about my approach to DEI with Ecolab: https://bit.ly/3qYREPd From Day One

🚨 Communicators/Leaders - sharing here some tips gained from my time at MyNavyHR to leverage Black History Month as a way to honor employees of that background and celebrate the organization's rich history of trailblazers. Some things you can do... 🌟 Employee Spotlights: Discovering the exceptional individuals in your organizations who proudly embrace their Black heritage. Sharing their stories, experiences, and achievements creates a sense of pride and unity within your teams. 🌟 Leadership Acknowledgments: Highlighting influential Black leaders within your organization who have made a lasting impact can be empowering. Recognizing their accomplishments not only inspires others but also underscores the strength that diverse leadership brings to your organization. 🌟 Black History Month Events: Organizing engaging virtual panels, workshops, or webinars featuring inspiring Black speakers can have an impact as well. These events provide a platform for open conversations, fostering understanding and connection in your workplace. 🌟 Service and Shared History: Take time to visit culturally significant places that exemplify Black History in your town with your team. Also, consider doing a clean-up or other restoration as a company alongside the community. I have been privileged to learn from and serve with so many great Black leaders. Let this month be a time of listening, learning, and celebrating.

Strategic Human Capital Consultant l Business Owner l Leadership / Team Coaching and Facilitation l Executive Search l Board Chairman l Independent Trustee Board member l A passionate foodie and personal Cook
At Internal Locus Of Control we uphold Accountability, Ownership and Collaboration as our virtues. We thrive on giving clients delightful, impactful and lasting experiences. This morning I was a guest speaker at the Rotary club out in Cape Town. The team is on a mission to attract and retain Black talent and they called on me to come and help solutioning and give them an expert outside-in view. Conversations around DEI are very uncomfortable to say the least and I commend the team to be open enough to "go there"! Part of my prep was gathering insights from Black professionals on their thoughts and perceptions on Rotary Clubs. I used these to hold a mirror and come up with strategic considerations for the team to make a shift and realise their ambition. Verbatim comments afterwards: The session was "groundbreaking " "thought provoking" "practical" "I loved your emphasis on being intentional" "you have given us powerful insights to build a sustainable practical roadmap" "we wish for you to come back in 5 years and find us having implemented your recommendations and having shifted" "we appreciate the homework you did on us..." "Thank you for holding the mirror" "If we do nothing we will no longer exist in 10 years time" #collaboration #leadershipmatters #diversityandinclusion #thoughtleadership #internallocusofcontrol
