All of us at The Product Consult are wishing a belated Happy Mother’s Day to the moms out there who work so hard every day (and even harder every minute inside their heads, #mentalload anyone??) Whether it’s outside the home, at home, or both at the same time/all the time… Whether you’re a mom of children, pets, future children you hope to have, or whether you CHOOSE not to have them… 👶 Whether you do or don’t have kids and are fighting for women’s right to live safely across the world… ☮ Moms deserve to be celebrated and valued, (ahem, more than once a year) now more than ever. We celebrate you, support you, and are so grateful for you all. 💜 P.S. We cover parental leave for product managers/leaders. DM if we can alleviate any stress for folks going out on leave on your teams, just one more way to show support for new parents. #productmanagement #productmanagers #startups #consultants #workingparents #workingmoms

Anyone have an emotionally sensitive child like I do? (In fact, I have 2!) Working with parents and leading a 3k parent community, many people ask me about neurodivergent families like mine. They need different, possibly more, support solutions and products than other families out there. Many families find themselves with kids that are having trouble with emotional regulation or sensory issues with their kids. It’s hard to watch your kids as they melt down completely onto the grocery store floor (or worst case even lick it) or the playground. That’s why I honestly organize and go to less in-person events. It’s hard to balance my kids' needs, hold conversations with other parents, and participate in the event. Yesterday at the playground, I noticed a little girl having a tantrum (well, it was more like a full on meltdown, but I’ll give her the benefit of the doubt). Her dad put down his 805 beer (that was his parenting tip: “always have a beer in hand at the park”) and was able to talk her off the ledge by distracting her with something else instead of focusing on just trying to calm her down because she was fixated on what she wanted. When I spoke to him afterwards, he shared that he blacks out, his heart starts pounding (I thought it was only me who felt this), and he approaches his daughter the same way he would negotiate with a drunk friend, like he’s done so many times before in college. In that moment, it felt like a huge sense of relief as I always thought that I was the only one who felt this in the heat of the moment with their kids struggling. This little insight around parents and connecting with them can make or break brands! Also, if anyone knows someone at 805, this would have been the world's best piece of content they could have created/ sponsored. #marketing #parents #startups #insights #founders #brookeshapiroconsulting

How I went from a full-time SAHM and MOPS Director to running my own business and Next in Motherhood. If you were a SAHM (stay-at-home mom) and MOPS Member but graduated, you are probably wondering ... ➔ What's next? ➔ Do I have to go back to work? ➔ But who will pick up my kids when they get out at 2 o'clock? ➔ Will coffee dates alone be the fulfillment I need? [That was me in 2020.] As a new mom, I had spent 2-3 great years in MOPS, what they now call The MomCo by MOPS International, and I was loving life! Then, I got recruited 😉 into leadership as the Director, a 2-year commitment. ↳ I felt an unfamiliar level of fulfillment! ↳ My juices were flowing, and leadership was my jam! ↳ I felt successful, again, like when I started my career, growing our chapter by around 70%. You'll never believe what happened next! [c0v1d-19] I could have quit. I could have shut it down. I could have just said sorry 🤷♀️ what do you want me to do. 💥 Instead, I pivoted. We finished out the end of my second year in leadership online. [I loved it!] But it was quickly over and I was no longer eligible to return to MOPS because my son was now school-aged. So what was next? I didn't have all the answers but I knew one thing for sure, I would no longer be a happy stay-at-home mom. [Wait for it.] Motherhood was still my priority, but I wanted something more. I wanted to keep pouring into others and lead them to fulfillment. At the time, the big picture wasn't clear and I didn't know how I would step into that purpose. But I knew I could do one ☝ thing. Do the thing that was right in front of me! [So, I did.] I have since gone from freelancing my design skills to running a real business. I founded The WE/Me Community for women entrepreneurs who are dreaming, early entrepreneurs, seasoned entrepreneurs, or professionals to gather online and in person for relationship-building and masterminding. Ultimately it's a space for Community Over Competition. I host a small group, Next in Motherhood (NiM), for women with school-aged kids and a focus on entrepreneurship. And host another small group, Coffee+Community where women can be faith forward in business and network. ----- I'm Tiffanie Teel. I want you to 𝐵𝐸𝐿𝐼𝐸𝒱𝐸 𝐼𝒩 𝒴𝒪𝒰𝑅𝒮𝐸𝐿𝐹. 🙃 This is not a resume or moment of self-reflection but a chance to tell you that if I can figure out what comes next, YOU CAN TOO! 🙋♀️ Raise your hand in the comments if you've felt any of these things and let's celebrate each other's growth.

Life isn't a polished story. It's an ongoing journey of growth and learning. Those messy moments? That is where some of the best growth comes from if we're open to the lessons. Waiting for the 'perfect' moment is time lost. There's never a 'right' time; the time is now. I've been there, feeling like I should wait until everything's 'just right' to start something new, especially while juggling the whirlwind of parenthood and caregiving. You know what I've learned? The perfect moment doesn't exist. It's okay to dive in amidst the chaos, even if it feels messy and unsure. Here's the good news: those messy moments? That is where we can often find unexpected opportunities that come in the form of clarity, purpose, and direction. #EmbraceTheJourney #StartNow #growth

Finding reliable childcare is so difficult in Alberta. If you've ever frantically searched for childcare or sifted through endless online listings, you know it's a jungle out there. 🌳 That's why I'm super excited about Lulu and her startup, LiiT Care Connect Inc. Dynamic pricing SaaS for retailers & brands | CEO tgndata 🥇2024 Best Analytics - Germany Ecommerce Awards 🇩🇪
In the world of business, timing is everything. But for parents of challenged kids, time takes on a whole new dimension. It's about finding those precious moments between appointments, therapies, and advocating for their child's needs. Yet, despite these time constraints, they press forward in business, driven by a sense of higher purpose that transcends the ordinary.. ..often making them the top overachievers in their business sector. Parents of challenged kids are masters of forging connections and leveraging support, even when facing business challenges. They understand the power of collaboration, drawing strength from their network of fellow parents, caregivers, and advocates. Moreover, the process of building a business demands a level of focus and attention to detail that can be all-consuming. But for parents of challenged kids, this intensity is nothing new. They've honed their ability to juggle multiple priorities, to stay resilient in the face of setbacks, and to celebrate even the smallest victories along the way. Next time you see an overachiever, a successful entrepreneur or executive, pause your jealous or critical first thoughts that rush onto your mind. It might be that this success is driven by causes that you should/could/would not want to handle. #parenting #disabilities #businessjourney #achievers #challenges #successmindset
