OpenAI launches Sora "text to video" to a small group of artists. The videos, generated completely from text prompts, are spectacular. The continued acceleration of functionality of Gen AI tools is going to lead to a massive rethink of large aspects of our lives. I was once asked at a conference, what I thought the future of AI meant for society. My response was that the most rote and repeatable tasks would be the first to go. Ideally leading to an era where we can all be "Da Vinci's of Data". This is only achievable if we invest in the education of people in the usage of these tools and provide the minimum infrastructure to do so. It still takes creativity and vision to create imaginative work, but our challenge is going to be how we define and consider work. Right now I don't think it's unfair to say that work is socially defined as something you don't want to do, that you will do if someone pays you to do it. What will that mean when the largest part of our contribution is our conceptual imaginative ability? #generativeai #thefutureofwork

OpenAI released Sora, a text-to-video AI model which creates very realistic videos via a prompt - https://openai.com/sora. Although this model too has some growing pains and weaknesses, it comes very close to generating content of up to a minute long that maintains visual quality and consistency while adhering to the given prompt.
