"...Gentle work. Steadfast work. Life-saving work in those moments when life and shame and sorrow occlude our own light from our view, but there is still a clear-eyed loving person to beam it back. In our best moments, we are that person for another." We couldn't say it better ourselves 💯 The work of nonviolence is the work of magnifying and respecting each other's light. Join the conversation 💭 by getting involved in our community workshops, referring a high school student to our SEED program, or making a donation on our website!

One of my favorite classes in art school was stone carving. I had a fantastic instructor who taught me an important lesson. The traditional tools, like hammer and chisel, felt very safe and approachable, but the more intimidating non traditional power tools like the air chisel worked so much faster. Students who could get past their fear of these intimidating tools would quickly get far ahead. In fundraising, your chief power tool is the individual major gift ask. All the other tools, like the monthly reoccurring gift, or the social media blast asking for donations, all feel safer, but they don't get you very far. Art students and fundraisers who put their focus on the "safer" tools, to avoid the intimidating one, will find themselves missing their goals. The sooner you get past your fears and find the courage to ask for the appointment to begin a gift conversation, the sooner you are going to find success! Do you need help finding the courage you need to begin soliciting major gifts? Reach out today, I'm here to help! #majorgiftmastery #fundraising #nonprofit #philanthropy #majorgifts

It’s the last day of the #RocketCommunityChallenge, and the last chance to help us win! It's all about the number of donors, so any amount helps—$5, $10, $25, whatever you can contribute helps us get there. This week, the top 3 organizations that raise the most online will each win a bonus of $2,500! Can you help us win? Let’s do this! #makeadifference #donate https://lnkd.in/g-KzhGyQ

I'm conflicted. I can appreciate when a potential funder/donor/philanthropist wants to learn more about a nonprofit by meeting some of the people who are served by that organization's programs. But... Sometimes asking to talk with one of the people who is served by a program (sometimes referred to as the "beneficiary") is harmful. For example, in the case where a woman is finally in a safe place after experiencing domestic violence. Maybe she does not WANT her trauma on display, even if it means helping the organization get more money. That should not be her burden to bear. #funders and #foundations , please re-consider when you ask an organization to meet with an individual that has received services from a nonprofit. In many cases, it may be completely appropriate. But not always. #nonprofitorganization #philanthropy

You know LEAPING for Love isn't easy!! If you support any nonprofit organizations, you have undoubtedly learned nonprofit fundraising is a true challenge. With needs constantly growing but resources scarce, each donated dollar is stretched to its limit. It's a daily high-wire act to deliver critical services while keeping the lights on. Marketing budgets are slim, yet spreading their mission is paramount. Creativity, dedication, and word-of-mouth are often their greatest assets. While their work uplifts societies most vulnerable, the behind-the-scenes grind isn't always visible. Proposal-writing, impact-tracking, compliance - it's relentless. No wonder inspiration from caring citizens means the world. Simply sharing their story or giving what you comfortably can eases their load immensely. This Leap Day, I hope you'll consider LEAPING for LOVE with myLIFEspeaks. https://lnkd.in/eYrw7nwW

In a world that often seems fast-paced and individualistic, the simple act of giving has the power to transform lives and create a ripple effect of kindness. Whether it's a small gesture or a grand philanthropic endeavor, the act of giving not only benefits the receiver but also nourishes the soul of the giver. In this blog, we'll explore the art of giving and how cultivating a culture of compassion can bring joy and fulfillment to both the giver and the recipient. https://wix.to/O2hb1at

As we dive into a new week, I'm reflecting on the power of connection and community in fundraising. 🤝 In my role at MRP Donor Development, I've seen firsthand how cultivating relationships and fostering an environment of trust can significantly enhance the fundraising process. Here are three principles I always return to: Empathy: The foundation of any successful fundraising campaign is understanding the motivations and passions of your potential donors. Empathy is key to connecting on a deeper level. Commitment: Consistency and commitment to your cause demonstrate to your donors that you're invested in the mission. Show them that their trust in you is well-placed. Gratitude: Never underestimate the power of a sincere 'thank you.' Recognize the contribution of every donor, no matter how small. They are all part of the journey. As we go about our work this week, let's remember that fundraising is not a transaction, but a transformation - for the donors, the beneficiaries, and ourselves. #Fundraising #Philanthropy #MondayMotivation #MRPDonorDevelopment

One of the best decision I made this year was becoming a Girls on the Run Sierras Coach - helping young girls find emotional awareness and confidence through a physical activity based curriculum, giving back to their community, and pushing themselves to set new goals and finish a 5k... what's not to love?! But I'm not going to lie - I'm a sap and these girls have made such a tremendous impact on me as I've been able to see them grow over the past season. I'll never get sick of hearing, "Coach Page, will you run with me?" 🥺 I've added a new custom button to support this amazing org. Volunteer, coach, donate, participate - Girls on the Run Sierras 🏃♀️⛰️❤️
