More than 125 mental health and addiction treatment specialists from across Southern California and beyond are gathered in Huntington Beach today for the Hoag Mental Health & Substance Abuse Disorders Symposium. This daylong clinical education event focuses on the latest diagnostic, treatment and research advances related to opioid addiction; elderly, adolescent and young adult substance abuse and mental health; dementia and cognitive impairment; using psychotherapy to maximize athletic performance; substance use in pregnant women; and other topics. The symposium features experts from several Hoag specialty institutes and programs including Hoag Addiction Treatment Centers, Pickup Family Neurosciences Institute, Hoag Women’s Health Institute, Hoag Digestive Health Institute, and Hoag’s ASPIRE and Young Adult Mental Health Programs.
