Wondering why you're seeing fewer categories this year compared to last year? In order to have a robust competition, every category has to have at least 4-9 entries per category. Rather than eliminate categories, this year, our awards committee aimed to merge categories of similar subject matter with respect to the same production time limits. Have questions? Join us for one of our upcoming Q&A sessions. Details on our website. #HeartlandEmmy

Many years ago, I found myself in a room full of men twice my age where I was presenting ideas and solutions that if effective would have brought success to a company that I fundamentally didn’t agree with. I was a young woman trying to make my way in the world, champing at the bit to contribute and make a noticeable impact, when it hit me - my values did not align with the company values, I did not believe in the vision, and because of that, I was never going to succeed (or feel fulfilled) no matter how hard I worked. That's when I made a pact with myself to find a company that aligned with my values and where I could commit to the vision. And I found Argus. Now, as CEO, I look for that alignment. It’s the secret sauce for bringing people together who are excited and fulfilled and are also fully committed to magnifying Argus’ impact. Here’s what alignment looks like to me: 🤝 When we’re in alignment, we can disagree intensely, but our debate is fruitful. The conversation provides clarity, not resentment. The tension sparks ideas, not fires. 💸 When we’re in alignment, everyone understands when we pass on an opportunity that financially seems great but would betray our company values. 💡 When we’re in alignment, people bring me ideas that aren’t on my radar, are not part of my plan (often even mess up my plans!), but so clearly support or even catapult us toward the vision that I have to say, “let’s do it.” So evaluate who you are and what you want: to innovate, save the climate, or just save enough money to travel more. It’s completely up to you. Then find a place where your values align with the company’s values and vision. You don’t have to agree with every decision all the time (in fact, I’d advise you don’t), but from my experience you’ll find much more fulfillment in your own growth and successes when your work and your values align. #alignmentmatters #findyourplace #workthatmatters

I've learned a lot as an awards judge across multiple industries. The winners I selected had these in common: ✅ Provided context on the metrics. How am I supposed to know if "selling 100,000 units" is good? Instead, "We sold more than 1,000 products each minute." ✅ Went beyond day-to-day work. Simply executing a campaign doesn't make it award worthy. Did you overcome a major obstacle? Did you change perception? ✅ Understood how to show not tell. Here's an actual line from an award entry: "We received positive reception from brand partners." That's telling me a whole lot of nothing. SHOW me. Prove it. ✅ Used plain English. If you want me to dock points, use buzzwords/jargon like best-in-class, groundbreaking, north star, unparalleled, I could keep going... What questions do you have about how to win awards? What are your best tips?

I'm intrigued to know how people feel about industry awards? Do they give you confidence in a brand? Do they answer a credibility question? I guess it depends on the award-giver? In my event days I avoided awards.....I saw so much corruption in that world, most of the winners paid and sometimes brands even paid to remove their competition entirely..... ...big brands could therefore outbid their smaller competitors and maintain their 'position'. Obviously there are plenty of non-corrupt business awards. I'm just wondering how important they are in the qualifying process? Thoughts? #industryawards #businessawards #positioning

Ahh the mind monkeys 🐒🐒🐒 The energy sappers, creativity sponges and the MAIN thing to hold people back when it comes to entering, accepting and winning awards. BUT, I wanted to put your mind at ease... these are the 3 things you DON'T have to worry about when entering awards: 🐒 "Comparisonitus"- so easy to get caught up in. But in the world of awards, it's not about how you stack up against others; it's about showcasing YOUR unique achievements. 🐒 Being big-headed/blowing our own trumpet. When it comes to awards, it's time to shine a spotlight on your accomplishments. You're not being big-headed; you're letting the world know about your hard-earned success and about how many people you've helped. 🐒 Being judged. Ok this bit has to happen with the judges-but they're not there to criticise! They're there to recognise, they're champions in celebrating your achievements. And whenever I've sat in an awards ceremony- there is nothing but warmth and support in the room. Recognise which 🐒 is yours and try to work on overcoming it! I want you to be able to embrace the awards journey with confidence and pride. (and I want you to win 🤩) I have a free strategy masterclass in November, I'd love for you to join. It's a great step to battling these mind monkeys. Comment monkey and I'll send you the link.

You should join. I happen to know there will be some exciting announcements, beyond the exciting awards which are reason enough to join! So much inspiration - packed into so little time. I really cannot recommend it enough. Take the time to log in and learn how these companies build a culture of experimentation - and grow so quickly. How do they turn things around? How do they grow? What are their secrets? One of my favorite parts of being a jury member each year is that the stories just get better every year. I think this is because companies have learned the importance of sharing and learning from each other. Why don't you start your journey this year? Then you can join and be a nominee next year.
It's awards season yet again in this big ol' word of optimisation 🥳. I guess awards are a bit like marmite, you either love um 😍, or hate um 🤨. But either way, it's a chance to see what your peers are up to that's good enough to be considered award worthy. So, you *could* say it's a chance to do some market research 🤓🙌 That's one of the reasons I'll be tuning in to The Experimentation Culture Awards on Thursday 23rd May. Plus, it's a chance to kick back, pour a tipple 🍹and eat some nibbles 🍿 whilst the one and only Ton Wesseling does what he does (probably in a gold blazer) and hosts the event that gives a nod to and recognises those that have put themselves on the line to be judged ⚖️ Will you be joining? It is so easy to say "no" - Why not say yes? We have always strived to say YES whenever possible. Saying Yes is not always easy. For us it sometimes requires working late, rush shipping, and all kinds of stress behind the scenes. Why do we say yes? Imagine if you work hard to meet your goals and your employer is hosting a recognition ceremony to showcase all of the hard work of the top performers. What if they reach out to their awards supplier and were told NO! The deadline cannot be met, the item is out of stock, the production time is too long - and they are crazy for even asking. What if you are the one that shows up and does not receive that award? How does that make you feel? It's not always about the client, it's more about the receiver of that item. How will it make them feel? No matter how big or small, and sometimes the smaller orders, make the most impact, try saying yes! Now, I am not saying we can always say yes, but if it is remotely possible, maybe we should. We are not hero, the client is the hero, we are just the guide.

Client: Here's an idea. Consultant: That will hurt ROI/engagement/insert metric here. Consultant: This will help you achieve your business goal. Client: That is not in the budget. There's always a back-and-forth, but things are never black and white. Compromise is key!
