"The savviest sports media properties are in parallel forging deep, direct relationships with their fandoms to ensure that a DTC path can be explored to deliver premium live content when it suits the needs of both the business and the consumer. As such, many rights holders are creating owned-and-operated OTT destinations that enable teams, leagues, and federations to build premium experiences that leverage bespoke content and deep community elements catering to consumers’ demand for personalization and interactivity." We are already seeing the IPL teams do this in India, but the big opportunity is with other emerging sports leagues and federations to start owning their fan data. Great read and a lot of learnings on what could emerge in India as Gen A and others look at other sports beyond cricket!

In a fragmented streaming services world, three traditional Television houses offering a combined sports streaming service is a welcome move and it will be win-win for consumers and these companies. If cable TV and DTH are considered "aggregators", we need such thing in streaming space too. However, this new streaming service is not an "aggregator" thing but "bundling" and it may further evolve.

#Copyright #platforms #technology #BusinessModels #Cooperation #JustOut 《Disney, Fox, Warner Bros Discovery to create joint sports streaming platform.》▪ 《 ESPN, Fox and Warner Bros. to create a new sports streaming service》▪ _______ [ New transatlantic discussions seem to be approaching... 😉 ] It may appear that another instance of assembling a diverse set of intriguing abilities may be paramount to opening up entirely new avenues globally. Aside from the complicated variables, it may be obtainable to presume that one is consequently observing something operationally novel behind the scenes and gaining a more complex understanding of the new dimensions of future (international) development. Unless one chooses to remain more or less skeptical (or not) [🤔, particularly in terms of the rules of conduct], today's news may also appear as a fruitful example of drafting from yet another genuinely important point capable of influencing both sides of the Pond (in particular, when examined in a broader scheme (and/or context)). All Fubo is asking for is getting a fair deal. We’ve been competing with the sports cartel with intertwined business interests where one business units pays another in underhanded way. Fubo doesn’t have UGC ad inventory or cloud credits to give out. Networks don’t own equity in the company. If given the same deal as cable operators like Comcast or Verizon, Fubo can thrive and out compete anyone in this space. Fubo is the only content distributor fully aligned with consumers and we are having to compete with significantly worse business deals. We’re having to enter the octogon with 20kg weight deficit, but still punching way above our weight. Remove the restrictions and we can beat everyone in this fight for consumers.
Today, Fubo is fighting back against the sports cartel who we believe has engaged in a years-long campaign to block our sports-first streaming business. Its latest play? To steal our playbook via the formation of a sports streaming joint venture. We are standing up for our business and for consumers who deserve the option to choose the sports streaming service that's right for them, and at a fair price. We'll share more this week on how you can support our #SaveMySports fight. https://lnkd.in/eymRFKer
