I had the chance to sit through Google Marketing Keynote (from yesterday).. and.. it was a drag TBH. Here is a personal take. Something happened to Google, I feel they lost their touch - presenter jokes were lame, personal stories didn't feel natural and the entire keynote was quite "salesy" (but maybe its just me). However, I do see a huge potential with GenAI powered capabilities for both seasoned and naive marketers. The time to GTM will be reduced by a ton. Naturally, I have a feeling that soon enough consumers are going to be surrounded by advertising even more. With a thoughtful marketing strategy utilising the data you collect, these capabilities could be a game-changer for marketers, startups and creative entrepreneurs alike. Having said that, I am excited about a few things - > Canva like features built right in, into the ad platforms. > Meridian (Launching end of the year), a Marketing Mix Modelling that'll supposedly provide "solutions to measurement challenges" (MMM will make a comeback - I always thought this was underrated), and > Google Ads Data Manager: I have a feeling this is just a spin-off of Looker Studio but nevertheless good progress and good news here for Performance Marketers.
